Review: On July **,2011 we entered into contract with Grand Contracting for the purpose of finding and repairing unknown origins of leaks at my home. The company removed my entire patio floor, and removed the ceiling in the first floor apartment. They rebuilt the patio floor and put new sheet rock, lighting, and a patio door, but as of today I have numerous leaks still existing. I removed the ceiling once again, exposing rusting metal sheeting and numerous leaks. I am not able to rent the apartment. I have a written contract that states "All work has a 5 years guarantee".

I have contacted [redacted] who said he would not repair the leak, or refund my money. He then hung up on me. I would like the amount paid by me to be refunded since [redacted] has refused to remedy the situation, and I will need to hire a new contractor to redo the work.Desired Settlement: I would like the amount paid by me to be refunded since [redacted] has refused to remedy the situation, and I will need to hire a new contractor to redo the work.

In reference to our conversation on Monday July ** I made you aware of certain things that were done at the job site. We went back to the job 3 or 4 times in trying to rectify the problem.

The patio floor was filled with water about 4 to 5 inches high and no water penetrated the floor to the ceiling below. When we put water on the wall with the hose, 5 minutes later water was leaking through the ceiling. It is evident that there is nothing wrong with the work performed on the patio floor. An explanation was given to [redacted] that there was a problem with the exterior wall that met the patio floor. Obviously, after the last time we were there in January, he concluded that there was nothing we can do further and gave us a letter to sign that the balance of 3,000' would not be paid with this agreement and he would pursue another contractor to resolve the problem. I n addition, there was a storm door installed at no cost to the own or in order to show good faith on stopping water to penetrate the wall. The leak only occurs when there is wind swept rain which hits 'the building wall and penetrates it. I feel that we have done everything possible to rectify the problem. If the problem is not the patio floor there is nothing left to do. Since there is another contractor involved at the location our guarantee for the work is voided according to the letter that was signed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response from the

business is unacceptable. I have attached photos(as recent as today) showing

that the leak is coming from the center of the patio floor, and nowhere near

the exterior patio wall as [redacted] claims. I have labeled some photos to

show proximity. The exterior wall [redacted] states is the problem stands

approximately 4- 6 feet away from the leakage areas! The apartment downstairs

has been non rentable for 2 years because of this poor and shoddy work.
