I am rejecting this response because: I must have been inattentive before to see this company and this company alone charges time for both coming to fix a problem and charges for the electricians costly reutirn to his place of employmentI was informed that the electricians next job was in Sacramento and assumed the next client would be charged for the travel time from my home to the Sacramento location since it would have been miles less travelI don't accept the excuse that the electrician must drive all the way back to Grass ValleyCA, charging me and then drive the additional miles from Grass Valley to SacramentoIt seems this company makes as much or more on the driving time of their employeeI have checked with other electric companies and they find it hard to believe I would be charged for additional time once my job is completedI will no use or reference this company in the future and will do all I can to make others aware of this deceptive practice, deceptive because shen you call for service they do not tell you in advance you will charged driving time from their shop to your house and traveling time back to their business

Gray Electric Co. policy is to charge the customer from the time we leave the office until we return to the office, portal to portal. We have done this since 1965. We are confused and sorry he is dissatisfied this time with our policy and service. We always disclose our policy and hourly rate to our customers verbally and in written form.

Attached is the copies of the work order you requested that was signed by the customer for authorization of the work to be performed and the terms clearly stated on the back. At the top it clearly states our terms in bold caps lettering. Also is the paid invoice listing the costs and senior discount that was given. Anything else you need just let me know and thanks !

Review: I contracted this business to do some minor electrical work. After completing the work the electrician presented me a bill. It was 9:30 A.M. when he was done, but the paperwork had the finish time @ 10:30 A.M. When I questioned the later time shown he told me that he had to charge to drive all the way back to his place of business, he had already charged for the trip from the business to my door. I told him it was unethical to attempt to charge for services after the work I requested was finished. He refused to drop the additional drayage charge, I paid and immediately called the office at gray Electric. I was told that they had to get him back to the office so I was liable to pay that $75.00 charge. I told then I hired an electric contractor, not a taxi cab co. It was to no avail. I am a senior citizen and I assume I was just a crazy old man and my complaint would go no where. I am furious to be treated this way!Desired Settlement: I feel the job I requested be performed was done in 1 hour and 15 minutes, I think the additional charge incurred to return the employee to his place of business is unethical and illegal if not previously announced when I made the call for the service. If I would have known they would pad the job by another $75.00 I would have called another electrical contractor. The additional $75.00 charge was a complete surprise.

I don't accept the excuse that the electrician must drive all the way back to Grass Valley. CA, charging me and then drive the additional 25 miles from Grass Valley to Sacramento. It seems this company makes as much or more on the driving time of their employee. I have checked with other electric companies and they find it hard to believe I would be charged for additional time once my job is completed. I will no use or reference this company in the future and will do all I can to make others aware of this deceptive practice, deceptive because shen you call for service they do not tell you in advance you will charged driving time from their shop to your house and traveling time back to their business.
