Review: On 7/19/14 Mr. Gregory gave me an estimate (Estimate #60) on the cost of replacing my deck and requested the cost of materials to be paid up front. I sent Mr. Gregory a certified check for $3490.00 on 8/5/14. Since that date, I have been in contact with Mr. Gregory to check on the status of the work. For the months of August, September, October and November Mr. Gregory has texted me or emailed me that he was held up at another construction-type of job and he has had to postpone the deck. Mr. Gregory recently emailed me that he hurt himself 3 months ago and has been unable to do any type of construction work and that he used my material funds for something other than materials; he said he no longer had my money. The company that referred me to Mr. Gregory has spoken to Mr. Gregory and he has admitted that he is still injured and has sold his tools of the trade. He can no longer perform construction-type work. Mr. Gregory was dishonest about his ability to rebuild my deck and was deceitful when he took my funds and used them for his personal self.Desired Settlement: Not only did I send Mr. Gregory $3490.00 but I also had to pay $200 for not having a functional deck. My property manager can provide financial statements that support the $200 cost. I want $3510 from Mr. Gregory. Mr. Gregory mentioned in his email that he had a Monday through Friday type of job so his wages could be garnished to pay me back.

Review: I had previously worked with Mr. [redacted] Gregory on a past project and thus, had no hesitation when he asked for half of the cost of a current project in order to purchase supplies. He took a bank check for $350.00 and then never returned to the residence to complete the project. After several weeks had gone by, I spoke with Mr. Gregory and he indicated that he would return the money as he could not complete the project for a variety of personal reasons. Attempts were made to meet Mr. Gregory and he did not show. Several attempts to communicate with Mr. Gregory via phone, text and email went unanswered. When we were able to reach him (by calling from a different phone number) he indicated that he would mail us a check - which he never did.Desired Settlement: I have copies of the check that was made out to Mr. [redacted] Gregory and paperwork to support the requested repair that was never completed. I would like to be refunded my money as it was never used for supplies for my project and the project was never initiated or completed. He simply took the money and disappeared.
