Good Afternoon,Please be advised that the $2.95 convenience fee to use the transponder does not include tolls.The convenience fee covers administrative cost only.I acknowledged that you did pay for a Toll Pass at the time of the rental, this is why I waived the convenience fee that you were billed on the invoice.Toll fees can range from $14 to as low as $0.25 so there would be no way for us to predict where and how many tolls you could incur.Tolls are billed after you return the vehicle and the local tolling agency notifies us of any tolls.I understand that this was not fully explained to you at the time you were offered the service, as a courtesy we have waived the full invoice.Should you require any additional information please let me know.Best Regards,[redacted]

Friendly and courteous. Would not blame this business.Fees are in the multi-page brochure given to us by rental company but after everything was signed and keys handed over. Rental representative did not explain any of that during the renting process.  Rental Company need to verbally disclose this in cities with such tolls and ask renter to sign in a manner similar to signing for insurances and fuel..etc.

Dear [redacted],   In response to your letter regarding Customer Experience ID [redacted], Highway Toll Administration followed the standard policy and procedures as laid out in the rental agreement the customer signed at the time of renting the vehicle.   We are a company that provides...

electronic toll collection services to the rental customers, which offer a fast and convenient way of paying for tolls by utilizing an in-vehicle transponder device or license plate imaging.  Customers are provided with a rental jacket and other handout materials that explain the service and the daily convenience fee of $3.95/rental day up to a maximum of $19.75/rental plus the toll amounts once the service is activated.  The service can be activated by driving through an all-electronic toll booth, one that does not accept cash, and the toll is picked up by the transponder installed inside the vehicle or by license plate imaging.    Once the service is activated by the customer, the credit card that is utilized to rent the vehicle will be charged within 7 to 10 business days after the vehicle is returned for the daily convenience fees plus the toll amounts incurred by the renter during his or her rental period.   We strive to provide excellent service to all of our customers and to that end, all transponders installed inside the vehicles contain a phone number which connects the customer to a live agent. That agent can answer questions about any aspect of the service and also provide itemized receipts for the charges incurred throughout the duration of the rental agreement.   We reached out to [redacted], explained how the service works and tried to work out a solution with him. We just got off the phone with the customer. The customer found the refund on her credit card statement and will be closing this case.?

ID [redacted] this company had promised to resolve the concern by getting me a refund for the entire amount charged wrongly to my credit card within 7-10 days. I have still not received the credit till today. [Original complaint premise is this : HTA wrongly reported and charged [redacted] Rent a car for toll due by me (at an exit I was not even present) >> [redacted] in turn charged me the toll $1.50 plus a service charge of $13.00 >>[redacted] kept saying talk to HTA as "HTA charged [redacted]">> HTA kept saying "We did'nt charge your card, so we cannot refund. talk to [redacted]">HTA did not furnish proof of my presence at the exitRefund of the entire amount of $14.50 wrongly charged to me. (In my previous complaint I requested the refund of $14.00 only as I didnt care about the change. Now I want the whole $14.50 back.)

Hi, We have looked into this complaint and apologize to the customer for any inconvenience she has endured. We are issuing an additional credit of $3.95 for the convenience fees the customer was billed on the service. She had called our offices and received a prior credit of $7.90 on June *, 2015....

The $3.95 is the difference for the convenience fees she was billed.We have also reached out to the toll road and requested for images of the vehicle going through the tolls. We will provide this to the customer as soon as we receive it. To clarify, we do not have control of when the toll roads send us the toll data. We bill the customer as soon as we receive the data from the toll road. Very rarely, there are delays in us receiving the information all together and that is why the customer got billed a few times.Highway Toll Administration
