Modern attempted to contact the customer several times to set a service visitAfter successfully setting service Modern needed to reset the appointment because of illness on the part of the tech scheduledThe customer had to reschedule another visit after thatAs of this writing, a tech is
visiting the customer today, April 2, to perform what will hopefully be a successful resolution of the customer's concernsWe have not been avoiding the customer's concernsThis has just turned out to be a "hard to schedule" event and we've been waiting for some resolution to occur prior to reporting back to the fine folks at Revdex.com

The Company apologizes to these homeowners if their experience with the quote was uncomfortable and not to their satisfaction. Our consultant may possibly have mis- conveyed the information on the energy star-related Act of Congress that he referred toIn actuality, the homeowners may refer
to the "ENERGY POLICY MODERNIZATION ACT" (S2012) which was passed by Congress on April 20, While this act does not specifically site a requirement of homeowners to have energy star rated windows in their homes when selling, it does direct the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) (which is the backing agancy for the majority of mortgages created these days) to incorporate energy savings from products such as windows, doors and skylights when evaluating financial eligibility for an FHA-insured mortgageThe obvious inference is that highly efficient windows will, in fact, make one's home easier to sell without the impediment of negative impact of poorly functioning windows impeding a sale of the property by creating a negative review of that home's energy efficiency. The company has reviewed the above information again with the consultant and has been duly corrected as to how this information can be accurately connveyed. Modern would like to thank the homeowners for their feedback, and we wish them and their family well in the future

As a matter of normal business practice, Modern offers financing options to customers considering a home improvement purchase, with special financing customized to fit their budget needs. In order to do this, we ask permission by phone to pull credit prior to the estimate. If no verbal authorization...

is given, we do not pull credit. Having ascertained that permission was given by this  potential customer, we did pull credit. As a possibility that there was a misunderstanding as to our intent, we have requested the credit bureau Equifax to remove the inquiry from the record on 08/31/2015, which should be actuated at least 30 days from the stated request date. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding and would like this customer to know that our intentions were based on giving them as complete as possible information package regarding a potential purchase and nothing more.

Modern has reversed the bank charges on this transaction as of September 8, 2016. The customer may be advised to contact the three credit bureaus as to her AKA status with said reporting agencies.  Modern's intent to see the customers after the cancellation was to explore options available to...

assist the customers with any perceived difficulty in carrying out the purchase, since said cancellation came weeks after the legal rescission period on the contract for the work. Modern always makes a strident effort to help its customers with any difficulty, especially in a case such as this wherein a previous customer calls us up and requests us to come out and quote them more work.  Modern requests Revdex.com upper management to strongly consider the customer's intent (conveyed to us by their legal council) that this complaint be expunged from the Revdex.com record as Modern did nothing knowingly wrong in our attempt to process and complete a legal transaction that was cancelled without explanation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  This company doesn’t assume responsibility for their windows or the company they get them from. This is just down right sad. I can have the two small windows replaced for less than they want for shipping. The warranty they place on their products is only good for use in the bathroom. Unfortunately,this customer's warranty, from a purchase 22 1/2 years ago, contained the stipulation that shipping charges are not included in the replacement parts or pieces of their product. As it is, the shipping charges do not come close to the expense of paying for new product, so the warranty...

is not without value. Modern has, to this point, offered to waive its $75.00 service fee on warranty work but this offer apparently did not satisfy the customer and this generated the present complaint even though is was  no fault of ours. As a further gesture of good faith to this customer, we will continue to offer a waiver of the service fee, and in this instance only, offer to pay for 1/2 of the shipping charges. We will await the customer's call to the service department to arrange delivery and installation of the service pieces if this is accepted.

Inquiry was successfully removed regardless of the fact that permission was granted for the credit pull.

As of today (12-17-15) These windows were installed on Friday December 11th and the customer told our installation crew that they were very happy with the work that was completed. Christine, the General Manager has left [redacted] two messages to make sure that this information is correct. At this...

point we are just awaiting [redacted]'s call regarding this matter. Please have [redacted] contact Christine Pauly, General Manager if there is anything else we can do to make him happy, we are doing everything we can to please this customer.
