Signed up for the $1 product bundle and then before I even got to try the products they charged me $90! This was two months ago and I’m still trying to get my money back. They made me pay return shipping even though I told them not to ship out the products before they even shipped but they told me it was too late. Today they finally told me they refunded me and I looked and they only refunded $65 out of the $85 they owe me as if I wouldn’t notice. Plus the soap made my back breakout. I tried to leave a review on the website and you can’t. It shows reviews but you can’t leave one so they are obviously fake. I found out about them through their other company Pela case and I will never order from any of their companies again.
If you make a purchase from this company, they sign you up for a $30 monthly subscription. I contacted customer service to cancel and they refuse to cancel but also acknowledged they they are sorry I was mislead. Now that I’ve complained, they refuse to contact me back.
Habitat Botanicals signed me up for an account I did not authorize or have access to, and used said account to charge me for products I did not order myself. I had to sign up for an entirely new account on my own, proving one never existed, in order to cancel the automated subscription they signed me up for without my consent. They're now sending me products I did not order, and charging me for them in the total of $30.60, money I do not have to spend on things I don't need while struggling with finances in the midst of a global pandemic.
My first order was relatively painless: it wasn't cancelled correctly so they shipped it anyways and gave me a refund. However, unbeknownst to me, they signed me up for a subscription service where they would use my credit card without my consent to place an order different from my previous order and significantly more expensive. I contacted them to cancel the order, of course, but they shipped it before responding to my email and then said I would have to pay for shipping to an address in Utah instead of their company address in Langley. I refused to pay for shipping, as I never consented to the order, but they consistently told me the same thing again until they stopped responding altogether. In order to cancel the subscription, they insisted that I make an account and cancel it there (which obviously says that they're making a habit of signing people up for subscriptions without consent), but after some stern emails they eventually cancelled it. I opened a dispute with my bank, but they said they cannot help me until I return the product, since it's the company's jurisdiction to resolve the issue.
I ordered a trial of their product. It is several weeks later now and I was just charged for a subscription that I never agreed to. When emailing them for info, they acknowledge the subscription disclosure is not obvious and apologized. They agree to refund money after I pay to ship it back to them. I don't feel I should have to pay for their *** business practices. They have not even shipped my package yet. I asked them to cancel the order and subscription within hours of getting notified. They refuse. I have also contested the charges with my credit card company as well.
They advertised a sample promotion. When I purchased, they automatically enrolled me into a subscription without my active consent. They claimed that they sent out emails to notify me that my subscription would be fulfilled and sent soon, but when I received the email, it was only 24 hours notice. They stated that I needed to create an account in order to cancel my order, which means they created a subscription without an account with my personal information. I reluctantly created an account and tried to cancel, but they claimed that because the order was in progress, it was not possible to cancel. When I pointed out that “in progress” did not mean that the items were sent, I immediately received an email stating that my items had been shipped.
I have tried to discuss with them the inappropriate business practice that they’re are engaging in. They offered a refund only if I ship everything back at my cost.
I received an email from Habitat Botanicals stating that they were a sister company of *** and that they were offering *** customers the ability to try products for $1. I checked the product page and details provided at checkout to ensure that I would not be set up for a subscription as is typical for this type of offer. I received an email receipt after purchase that only showed that I had purchased the two $1 items I purchased. There was no mention that I was subscribing for anything. On June 15th around 5 PM, I received an email saying that my membership billing period was coming up. They stated that if I wanted to change my box or skip a month, to send an email to ***. I emailed them and asked to cancel my membership. They responded on the 16th and said I couldn't, in fact, cancel by email and that I had to go to an account sign-in link they provided. This is the only way to find this link. I've checked their website and there is no account login. This is problematic because without an email from them, I would have never been able to locate a place to cancel the subscription if I had known I was subscribed in the first place. A day and a half later, around 2 AM, they billed me. They didn't only bill for 1 set, but 3 sets of what I had purchased originally. The total billed was over $60. I contacted the company around 11 AM the same day to ask that they cancel the shipment. I thought this could be done as they said they had processing delays of 5-10 business days. They said that it had already shipped and couldn't be stopped. The first activity on the tracking provided wasn't until the 20th. I went back and forth with them for a while. I voiced my concerns that it was never disclosed that this would be an ongoing purchase. I provided them a copy of my receipt as well. All they would tell me is that they would improve for future customers and that they would forward my comments to their CEO. They would not provide a refund until I receive and return the merchandise that I did not agree to purchase. They eventually stopped responding all together and sent a survey.
I am very dissatisfied with the customer service I received from this company. I would warn anyone against ordering from them, and tell them to make sure they are aware what they're signing up for when they order. I received a promotional email offering me some free product to try. I ordered it. Genuinely liked it and was going to order more. Later I received an email that informed me I had in fact signed up for a subscription service (this was most definitely not clear to me when I made my first order). I contacted them and told them to cancel the service. Two days later I received confirmation that my order was on its way and my credit card had been charged. I contacted them and they took no ownership for the confusion, saying that I received instructions to log into my account and cancel...according to them, my email which stated "***" was not enough.
The back and forth with their customer service team has been dismissive and patronizing. I receive imcomplete answers followed by a smiley face, which tells me they are not taking my complaint seriously.
In my mind, this is not a way to run a business or retain customers. I just want to be done with them so I don't have to deal with this again.
Buyer beware...
1) my first order took more than a month to arrive with no communication
2) I received an email stating that I had another order coming that I did not request. I emailed within seconds of receiving this knowing that it had not shipped. I was ignored and told that no one could help me.
3) when I pursued this further I was told “too bad” and shown a receipt that I did not receive saying I had signed up for this.
4) when further pursued - no one was able to show me where I had agreed to this prior to payment.
5) when I expressed the lack of care and concern of the person I was speaking with I was told that there was no one else in the company I could speak with. I asked repeatedly to speak to another person and was told no.
6) I was told there is no company phone line. At all.
7) my issue has not been addressed. I am expecting a refund. I do not want this product.
8) my negative review was removed from social media therefore making the appearance of the company untrue.
9) when I expressed that I did not want my subscription I was told that I needed to sign up to cancel. Given that this company feels *** to me I am unwilling to provide any further information to them. I am worried about the information they do have.
Hi ***!
Your order was already refunded :)

I tried their $1 product trial. I DID NOT sign up for any subscriptions. I didn't even make a account. Nonetheless, Habitat Botanicals not only signed me up for a subscription (worth around $70 cdn), but only let me know that my (unasked for) subscription was renewed the night before. They processed my order the LESS THAN TWELVE HOURS (i.e. in the middle of the night where I live) after they sent my first email. I immediately sent a request for an order cancellation as soon as I got a reply. Habitat answered with a canned response about subscription cancellation (ignoring the request for purchase cancellation). By the time I cancelled a subscription and sent another email pushing for the cancellation (approximately half an hour), the order had shipped. I now have to pay out of pocket to return after it reaches my place. A ***, deceitful company.
Placed an order for hand sanitizer on 03-27-2020, which was charged in American currency. I did not realize at the time that it was a Canadian business (total was $92.16 Canadian)I was provided a *** tracking number, which was never updated after “leaving the warehouse”. After waiting until 04-22-2020 I felt frustrated that my order had not arrived. I began to email the company stating I would like a refund. They asked me to be patient and wait, I agreed to wait until 05-15-2020, and stated that if it didn’t arrive by then I would like a refund. On 05-15-2020 I emailed again stating my package didn’t arrive and that I wanted a refund. *** They offered to send me double my previous order. However after looking into this company online it seems it is a *** and they are never going to send me product. I believe my original product was never mailed in the first place. I do not trust that this is a real company.
I placed an order with this company for hand sanitizer and soap on April 5 2020 and still haven’t received this order. I’ve emailed customer service several times I’ve filled out an online form inquiring about my order and have received zero information back. Both my sisters are dealing with the same thing with the same exact company. It looks like they’re running some sort of elaborate *** where they send automated responses to customers but do not reply to their emails and do not ship their orders.
we are experiencing shipping delays due to covid-19. This customers order has started the shipping process already.
They never delivered any products whatsoever. At all. None.
I placed an order with Habitat Botanicals on February 26, 2020. I paid by my *** card. It was for Health and Beauty products that are better for the environment. Many of us are trying to be better people. I received a small portion of the order on March 9th. I wasn't sure why I hadn't received the complete order. Since then there have been many emails, copies of which I could send to you asking where the balance of my order is and only getting vague replies saying it has been sent with shipping information that even though it gives you a tracking number, it says tracking information not available. The company has commented a couple times about moving location and setting up a better processing system however this is far too long and I don't have any comfort feeling that I am going to get the rest of my product. I have also asked for a refund for the balance but again was just put off. I am not sure what you can do to help me but this is not very good business practice.
Customer was refunded in full on Friday April 24th 2020. Please keep the items as a gift when you receive them. :) We're very sorry for the experience you have had. Please note, refunds can take 7-14 business days to reflect in your account.

Not only are they price gouging they are a Canadian based company that manufactures its products here in Canada and ships them from Canada but they charge Canadians in USD so you have to pay the conversion. Upon asking for a refund they didn't return my money in full and are refusing to fix the issue.

Hello. This has been dealt with. The owner finally reached out to me. He explained what's happening to make the appropriate changes and offered me a partial refund.
Sincerely
Order for products was placed 2/1/2020. Half of the order was filled 3/4/2020 and shipped 3/10/2020. The company has been unresponsive in indicating when remainder of order will be filled and delivered.
This company accepted my payment for personal hygiene product, and *** claimed to have shipped said items. They have repeatedly told me to wait, and the items are on their way. The tracking number they provided has no information attached to it. I have emailed them multiple times in an understanding and patient tone, and now I've reached my limit. I have looked into other consumers' reviews of this company and found dozens of identical complaints. The company accepts payment, says item is on the way, and is defensive and refuses to refund when they receive legitimate complaints. I have receipts and order # and copies of emails, if that is needed on your end. I hate seeing consumers ripped off with no means of recourse, even when the dollar amounts are small. Thanks for your time.
The company appears to be a *** as numerous reviews have recently appeared on the company site about people not receiving their packages, not receiving responses from the company, no tracking numbers being given, and no refunds being placed. I ordered my package on February 1st. I have yet to receive it or hear anything from the company after asking multiple times about my shipping status. I have now demanded a refund and still no response to my emails. There is also no contact phone number to call.
