Butch Hibbs's response is a poorly written fairy tale No one shows up at a "business several times every day and highly praises work" This is utterly ridiculous and an obvious made up story But it doesn't stop there His whole response is a made up story January start date was not agreed upon and we were NOT happy living in a hotel room for months No one would believe anyone would give up a home for a small hotel room Several emails and phone calls were made by both *** *** and *** *** to get Hibbs to start the workHibbs estimated the work would take weeks It took over months If not for pressure from *** ***, Hibbs would probably be still working at our home Hibbs did not complete the work to the specifications made by *** *** *** *** paid them for hardwood flooring, carpets, custom kitchen cabinets, etc *** was in agreement with Butch that we would pick less expensive materials in exchange for extra work No extra work was completed Not one stitch of the home that was not water damaged was upgraded by Hibbs Therefore the extra money from the insurance company, and not the mortgage company, was not provided by *** *** Forwarding bills to *** *** for work not done would be considered insurance fraud Hence the money was never requested Butch has even approached us to do insurance fraud and split the money This illegal activity was turned down by *** *** The complaint about using the cheapest materials possible isn't referring to the appliances and the things *** picked out It is referring to the molding, flooring, etc However Hibbs refused to install the counter top that is listed They instead installed a cheap ugly one that is crooked and falling apart.I see Butch has not addressed the accusation of him stealing from my home (He does misuse the word historic however Historic does not refer to the best house on the block.) *** was told by Hibbs employees that he has stolen her property and used it elsewhere My sink from the downstairs bathroom in his shop and they replaced it with a dental sink that is too small to wash our hands in Butch has re purposed the molding and door bell from my historic home I fear he has stolen other items as wellButch also fails to address our mold issues When Hibbs left Butch and his employees recognized that they did not finish the work required No electrical work was needed Just the ability to shut off breakers and install appliances His workers found shutting off breakers to be too much work and left a simple ceiling fan uninstalled This, of course, was part of the specifications created by *** ***Butch will not be receiving any more funds from the mortgage company until all property is returned and work is finished I am not refusing to speak to him. In
response to *** ***'s last comments and / or accusations to the work

Thank you for taking my call this week regarding this matter – Complaint #[redacted]. Indeed, Hibbs Contracting was paid upwards of $13,000 in November-December 2008 to completely tear off and replace an aging roof (house and garage) and gutters,  including replacing and installing FLASHING and...

making water tight a total of 9 (Nine) existing Skylights. The contract signed at that time had a 30 year guarantee on Shingles and we mutually agreed to an Upgrade to 20 years- see CERTIFICATE- (from standard 12 years) guarantee on Labor and “Workmanship”.For your records, We are sending you copies of these documents attached to this email. Update-Since our conversation, we have had a second Contractor look at, inspect, photograph and subsequently repair the existing problem. This second Contractor concluded the problem was NOT with the Skylight and indeed had concerns about the Workmanship of the original work done on the roof around these existing SKYLIGHTS.  Also since our conversation -The Contractor – the owner, Mr. Hibbard,  has contacted us- personally and verbally (via phone) at least has agreed to cover our actual CURRENT costs to repairing the existing leak problem, fix our ceiling drywall damaged by the leak and in addition look at the other skylights for possible repair. As of yet, we do not have anything in writing from him but do hope and expect to have something soon so we can resolve this matter amicably and to our satisfaction. He has said he would come over to the house again Next week and work with us to address our concerns, we are eager to meet with him again. We will keep you in the loop regarding any developments in the near future. Thank you again for you input,  [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Butch Hibbs's response is a poorly written fairy tale.  No one shows up at a "business several times every day and highly praises work".  This is utterly ridiculous and an obvious made up story.  But it doesn't stop there.  His whole response is a made up story.  January 1 start date was not agreed upon and we were NOT happy living in a hotel room for months.  No one would believe anyone would give up a home for a small hotel room.  Several emails and phone calls were made by both [redacted] and [redacted] to get Hibbs to start the work. Hibbs estimated the work would take 3 weeks.  It took over 2 months.  If not for pressure from [redacted], Hibbs would probably be still working at our home.  Hibbs did not complete the work to the specifications made by [redacted].  [redacted] paid them for hardwood flooring, carpets, custom kitchen cabinets, etc.  [redacted] was in agreement with Butch that we would pick less expensive materials in exchange for extra work.  No extra work was completed.  Not one stitch of the home that was not water damaged was upgraded by Hibbs.  Therefore the extra money from the insurance company, and not the mortgage company, was not provided by [redacted].  Forwarding bills to [redacted] for work not done would be considered insurance fraud.  Hence the money was never requested.  Butch has even approached us to do insurance fraud and split the money.  This illegal activity was turned down by [redacted].  The complaint about using the cheapest materials possible isn't referring to the appliances and the things [redacted] picked out.  It is referring to the molding, flooring, etc.  However Hibbs refused to install the counter top that is listed.  They instead installed a cheap ugly one that is crooked and falling apart.I see Butch has not addressed the accusation of him stealing from my home.  (He does misuse the word historic however.  Historic does not refer to the best house on the block.)  [redacted] was told by Hibbs employees that he has stolen her property and used it elsewhere.  My sink from the downstairs bathroom in his shop and they replaced it with a dental sink that is too small to wash our hands in.  Butch has re purposed the molding and door bell from my historic home.  I fear he has stolen other items as well. Butch also fails to address our mold issues.  When Hibbs left Butch and his employees recognized that they did not finish the work required.  No electrical work was needed.  Just the ability to shut off breakers and install appliances.  His workers found shutting off breakers to be too much work and left a simple ceiling fan uninstalled.  This, of course, was part of the specifications created by [redacted]. Butch will not be receiving any more funds from the mortgage company until all property is returned and work is finished.   I am not refusing to speak to him.  I am refusing to allow him to harass me at my
home. The statements made by his employees are pure slander and will face legal action. The [redacted] specifications that Hibss contractually agreed upon clearly states two coats of paint.  Anyone can look at our walls and see that only one coat was provided.  The primer shows through and pencil marks from construction are still on the walls.  There are even holes in the walls in some places.[redacted] was pleased to see the employees leave her home.  She was not pleased with the work at all.  The kitchen is crooked and the front door doesn't open properly.  To blame an old house for a kitchen or door being crooked after a gutted rebuild is preposterous.  Thank you for showing how incompetent you are. Yes the bank inspector is female and will be contacted to dispute the laughable accusation that she smelled anything when performing the inspection.  Of course replacing our

Please let me know you received everything ok. Thanks,  [redacted]

I requested a quote by a small roofing job at my house. I can't say I can rate the work they do but I could barely get pass the pushy salesman that came out. He was pressed for time and wanted me to sign a contract immediately without thinking things through. I called and voiced my concern to the company and waiting for a call back.... nothing. Guess I have to take my business elsewhere.

In regards to the nature of the complaints by [redacted] it has no merit what so ever. We had a contract between [redacted] Mortgage Co. and [redacted] dated 10/26/15 in the amount of $39,076.76. After
going over the job scope with her and her boyfriend she requested more
work to be completed in the...

process, so another contract for $53,944. 11 was written up for the bank so
the funds would be available. Late October 2015 after the proposal
was made; l told
her we couldn't start until approximately January 1, 2016 which was
ok with her and the insurance. [redacted] and her boyfriend were being housed at  the [redacted] in were in no hurry to move out of there. The job from start to finish only took approximately 2 months to complete. Which is a
very good time frame for a total gut and remodel job. [redacted] stopped by a number of times every day and highly praised our work. When she moved in after the bank's inspection,
everything was fine. She gave us a punch list to do, so we did it and she was satisfied; so we
went on to another job. We were told the
final payments would be processed and released. After figuring out the total job cost, minus the credit for any [redacted]r grade materials she picked out; according to her emails and
visits to [redacted]'s and with the completed work we did the total was $50,000.00 that we billed her for. She can
receive more funds from [redacted] Insurance. I spoke to [redacted] Insurance and they mentioned a
total of $ 56,509.31 was available for the claim minus her deductible of $1,000.00. The insurance company said all she has to do is submit the bill to the insurance and the money will be available. I have attached two notarized letters from the two employees that did the
work at [redacted]' s house. A couple of weeks later after I gave her the invoke dated 3/7/16 she gave it back to me with a response of a billing error. There is no way [redacted]'s home is
historic. It's looks better after the work than any other home on
the street. Also attached are emails from [redacted] on the part numbers for the items she requested to be used. We made several trips to [redacted]'s with her to get the correct items that she wanted.
Hibbs Contracting is more than willing to go back and try to get this resolved, as long as we get paid the rest of the money owed to us;
but it would be very hard to do so since she
chooses not to talk to me. Sincerely, Sincerely, Rhuel E Hibbard III

In
response to [redacted]'s last comments and / or accusations to the work

For two great individuals who took pride in doing [redacted]'s home improvements, it is certainly disappointing  of the words chosen by her. The start date for [redacted]'s project was mentioned not only to her but the insurance company that was paying her bill to stay at the [redacted]. There was absolutely  no problem with Hibbs starting her project when I mentioned that it was a good winter project for the company seeing that the fall is the busiest time of the year and we could take advantage to finish all our outdoor projects. [redacted] and her boyfriend  even mentioned about the great steaks they were getting for dinner along with how nice it is to stay on the lake front at one of the best hotels around. By no means did I mention that the job would only take 3 weeks. If anything, I would  have mentioned that I would  have a better understanding on how long or when the project would be completed after being there for 3 weeks. I personally walked  through the project with [redacted] and also the employees as far as what she wanted in her house. [redacted] had mentioned that the insurance company already settled for an agreed amount and Hibbs would just  have to notify them if there was any additional work. The flooring and kitchen cabinets were picked out by [redacted] with the assumption if they were cheaper to apply that credit towards the stairway, upstairs bathroom, and the kid's room to be completed. The insurance company is alright with any choices of flooring & cabinets that [redacted]'s chose. With any credits and additional work the bill was adjusted accordingly to
