Home Instead reply: We are qualified. We are licensed through the State of Texas, Insured and Bonded. We are set up to do Background Checks, Driver’s License eligibility, Texas DPS for criminal activity, the Nurses Aid Registry, and the Office of the Attorney General.
Client wrote: "Billed me for full service when I cancelled and caused me untold stress and heart problems . I won't go into full detail here but I would be afraid for them to care for anyone I cared about including myself"
Home Instead Reply: We have extensive notes, emails and phone recordings to back-up these statements. On November 8th, Client called and said she would need a ride and added shift for November 9th, Client added a shift for transportation to the Dr. On November 9th, the day of the shift, Client emailed at 6:48 am to cancel the ride for that day. CAREGiver was already staffed and due to 24/hr cancellation notice, Client was charged. We went over all of the policies at time of signing paperwork. This is on the Service Agreement Contract. On October 12th, *** had added 2 shifts in November, the 16th was one of them. She never called or emailed to cancel that shift. On November 16th, CAREGiver went to the shift, called that no one was answering the door. We told the CAREGiver to keep trying. We tried to call Client and her son with no success. We were concerned that she was on the floor or unconscious because she had always cancelled via email or phone call. We decided to call 911 fearing there could be something terribly wrong. The Fire Department arrived and took over. We could not walk away in good conscience. Client has not been happy from the start that her son could not take her to appointments any longer and had to return to work. He was able to take her that day and I believe that she just forgot to call or email us. Our 24-hr policy is in place so that we have time to find other work for our CAREGivers when a client cancels. We explained all of this to her in the beginning and let her know for example hospitalization is an exception to the 24-hr policy.
Client Wrote: "just be aware they charge thru a difference company heading to get money even when you stop payment at the bank. they use DAC Senior Care thru the bank to get money after I stopped payment to HOme Instead Senior Care"
Home Instead Reply: All business have a legal name and a dba (which means Doing Business As). Our legal name is DAC Senior Care Management LLC. Our dba is Home Instead Senior Care 297. We have to use our legal name when Bank Drafting from anyone's account. There was no ulterior motive to use our legal name to get money from Client.
