I would like to begin by apologizing to the patient's mom that she was not satisfied with the visit at our Familia Dental in New Braunfels. Before I provide a response in regards to this patient's complaint there are a few key points that were not included in the
complaint which need to be mentionedWhen the patient first visited Familia Dental for our Orthodontic services she was seen at our Odessa location on 01/05/2016 for an evaluationThe patient was bonded on 03/03/2016, and the patient's mom signed a contract in which it states that they would need to pay 10 payments of $for an estimated months of treatmentThe patient was nearing the end of her treatment with us, but had to discontinue treatment due to moving to New Braunfels. She was last seen at our Odessa location on 02/21/Patient and mom then visited us at the New Braunfels location on 04/19/2017 and saw a different Ortho Dr to discuss completing the treatment that was started in OdessaDue to the nature of this being a different office with a different Orthodontist we had her come in for an evaluation to see where she was as far as the treatment goesAfter the visit, the Drhad explained to mom that in order to finish the treatment there would need to be at least an additional months in order to complete the treatmentThe patient was quoted a fee of $1,with monthly payment's of $283.00, but because they did not complete the treatment in Odessa, again due to her moving, as a courtesy we would lower the feeWhen we contacted the patient's mom, we spent over an hour on the phone with her discussing the quote. We offered her a lower quote which was a total fee of $1,with payments of $for the additional months of treatmentMom refused the quote and mentioned that we were forcing her to pay double the amount and did not give her much of an option, which was not the caseWhat we simply offered the patient's mom was a proposed quote even after lowering the price in order for her daughter to complete the treatment at Familia DentalI understand mom believes that we should honor the contract they had in our Odessa location, but the patient only completed out of the adjustments in the Odessa office Therefore, there are adjustment appointments that the Dr in New Braunfels took into consideration when reviewing her case and providing the new ortho quoteWhat we are proposing to mom is simply an offer for her daughter to continue treatment with usWe are not forcing her to pay and continue with the treatmentIt is an option that she has the final say on, and if at the end of the day they do not want to continue treatment with us then we will honor their decision. The patient came to see us for a reason and that was to improve her smileWe want to ensure she receives the best care and provide her with the results she is looking for
