Review: My parked vehicle was involved in an accident in Pittsburgh 3/5/14. It was towed from the scene by J&A Auto Service & Towing at approximately 2 am and taken to their shop. A family member had my car that evening on a date. I contacted the tow shop at 9 am that morning to make sure the car was there and contacted the insurance company of the person causing the damage. I do not live in Pittsburgh. When I tried multiple times to contact J&A to retrieve my car they did not answer the telephone at either the business number or the cell phone number provided on their business card. I left multiple messages, none of which were ever returned. Finally on 3/11/14 I was able to speak to someone who answered the telephone at the business number and I promptly made arrangements to have my car towed out of there. It is my belief that they deliberately ignored all of my calls in order to charge as much as they possibly could in storage fees. I ended up with a bill of $755.00 that I had to pay in cash on 3/11/14 when I met MY tow driver there. This is completely unsavory business practices. I tried to call them to remove my vehicle on 3/7/14, two days after they acquired my car.Desired Settlement: I am requesting this business be put on notice to make others aware that they operate this way. I also believe that I am entitled to a refund of 4 days of storage at $50.00 a day considering that all of my calls went unanswered and all of the messages I left were never returned. This is bad business in my opinion.
