DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!!! After doing some work for me (dishwasher & garbage disposal install, insulation in the attic), John M [redacted] told me I needed a new deck I also wanted to close in a toilet in my basement I gave him 1/of the total job cost as a deposit (the total job cost was $9,000) in February Job was supposed to start in June He kept putting me off, not returning calls and then when he did call, would give me excuses to put me off In NOVEMBER I finally said I wanted my money back He asked for days to get me the money, he never showed up I'm suing him in small claims court I found another contractor who told me I didn't need a new deck, it just needed a couple of boards replaced, power cleaned and stained J&M Contracting should be out of business!!

Review: on June 29th.we singed a contract to have a window replacement to be installed in on July18th I called I called on the 16th to find what time he was coming he postponed for another week Monday the 22 of July he did not show up again Mr. [redacted] & son are not returning phone calls I paid $200.00 Down on the cost of $400.00 this has been going on now for almost 3 months [redacted] called and said because of my trouble he wood install the @ no cost that was over a month ago and still no return calls I tried both # [redacted] Office [redacted] Cell [redacted]. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money returned to me $200.00

Review: I contacted John M[redacted] Sr on September 9th 2015 to obtain a proposal for the installation of gutters and downspouts for my home. John Sr. came to my house, prepareda proposal, and requested 1/2 down.In this case, 1/2 down came to $830 of a total bill of $1660. I proceeded to write a check to John Sr. in the amount of $830. The check was cashed the next day on September 10th.

John Sr. said that the he and his son would complete the job within two to three weeks. I contacted John Jr. after 3 weeks around October 9th to inquire about the status of the gutter job. John Sr.said he and his son were in the midst of a big $30,000 kitchen job and did not have time to complete my job. John Sr.stated they would get to my job as soon as possible.

On October 16, 2015, I called John Sr. again asking about the status of the job. He stated he would have the materials delivered to my house on October 19th, 2015. The materials were never delivered.

I called John Sr.on October 21/22, 2015 and asked why the materials weren't delivered as he stated. John Sr.stated that he was busy and was headed to the mountains to go on vacation. At this time, I cancelled the order and requested a full refund of my deposit. John Sr.proceeds to tell me that it is company policy that customers must wait 30 days to receive refunds.

On November 2, 2015, I called John Sr and John Jr. and notified them that there is no mention of a 30 day waiting period on the written signed agreement for the job from September 9th 2015. I told John Sr.and John Jr that I would wait one more week for my refund before contacting the Revdex.com.

On Friday November 6th @ 5:30 pm, John Sr called me and stated he would personally return my refund on Monday November 9th between 7 and 8 pm.

John Sr.never showed. I called both John Sr. and John Jr.and left messages. Neither person returned my call.

Essentially, this company, J and M Contracting, took $830 from me and never delivered any materials--never performed any work--quite simply, it appears they are trying to steal $830 from me.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to receive a certified check, money order or cash refund of $830.

I have proof of the deposit--a copy of the cashed check and the original proposal--signed by John Sr acknowledging the receipt of $830 from me.
