Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that...

this resolution is satisfactory to me - in that the owner returned finished work product (project plans) owned by me.
I would caution any other potential customers looking to use this companies services, that due to the owner's unprofessional manner in which he spoke with me personally on more than one occasion along with how he handled the entire situation - would prevent me from ever recommending his services.

Review: I reached out to JHI to seek out an estimate for concrete slab/foundation work for a residential project on our home approximately on September 16th, 2004. We dropped off a set of plans to JHI contracting in order for them to complete and estimate for the work we were seeking. I received and estimate back for the work on or about 9/22/14. At which time I requested the set of plans be returned to me as we were need them for use in seeking various other estimates for the same project. John, the owner of JHI indicated that he would drop the plans by our house later that week. When that did not occur, I followed up with several calls over a period of two days (9/29/14 and again on 9/30). He returned my call, and rather coarsely indicated that he did not have the plans, his architect did (?) and that in his 20 years of work never had a person ask for the return of a set of plans. He then went on to say that his architect was in the hospital (whether that is true or not is irrelevant) and that he had now way to get the plans back to me as they were now in his architect's possession, who was unable to get them as he was in the hospital until 10/10/14.

Then he proceeded to raise his voice and become agitated when I tried to explain we had a conversation about him returning them to me after he had given his verbal estimate during our call on 9/22/14, cutting me off mid sentence and stating he had no way to get them to me. Then he more or less hung up the phone. I settled down a bit and then proceeded to contact him back where I explained to him we did have a conversation about him returning the plans to me which he then acknowledged he did say he had agreed to would return them, but then he had gotten busy, and did not have time to return them. He then became irate and more agitated, screaming at me on the phone stating, "I have no way to get you your plans, stop calling me and stop harassing me" and hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: I want the plans returned to me by this Friday 10/3/14 or I will take action against him for the cost of the plans.

Review: Contractor failed to complete agreed upon work and kept changing deadlines when to complete the work because he "was too busy." Once paid this contractor was non-responsive, failed to live up to agreed upon time frame for touch up work, and was unprofessional. Contractor left voicemails that I have kept staying "you project is done and fine" without returning to assess concerns and despite a bogus "30 year lifetime guarantee." Contractor is entitled to a point of view but can't arbritarily and without inspection determine "it's done"--perhaps to his but not the customer's satisfaction. Contractor's tone and demeanor are unprofessional and behavior is erractic.

Failure to touch up streaks of paint on concrete wall painted and bricks Contractor laid have white streaks that Contractor said "would wash away with ther rain." Not the case. Accordingly, Contractor's work is both deficient and unfinished.Desired Settlement: Revdex.com publish the complaint and alert Contractor of Complaint and most importanly provide consumers with this information so that they will avoid using the services of this unreliable Contractor.

In addition, that the Contractor refund necessary sum to have another Contractor complete the paint touch up and treat bricks. Will not use this Contractor as he is unreliable and unprofessional
