Review: He was hired to raise the roof of our attic to put in a 3 bedroom addition with a storage room. He told us he had an experienced work crew that could handle a job of that size. He also told us he had 25 years experience as a carpenter and had taken on several projects of this size. He told us the project would take 8-10 weeks and be done no later than the first week in December. He said he would be here everyday at 8:30 and work until 5 or later to get the job done and would work weekends when necessary. He started the job on October 1st 2013..He lied about his experience, his work crew (he had none) the time it would take( he walked off the job on February 28th 2014), 5 months after he started the job and it not even half finished. The work he did do was shoddy to say the least. The floors and walls weren't level, the rooms weren't square, their are huge gaps & cracks in the floors and big gaps in between the drywall pieces. The drywall was cut and hung incorrectly and pieced together like something a 10 year old would do. It's full of holes, gouges and scrape marks. It took him 4 months to put a roof on so we went all winter with nothing but a tarp for the roof which caused major water damage to our dining room ceiling and walls. He had no respect for us, his customers or for our home. He would often get into shouting matches with me and insult my wife. He took an excessive amount of days off prolonging a 10 week job into a 5 month project that wasn't even 1/2 finished. He continuously asked for more money for material and labor. We had to take over buying material and paying the laborers because he never had any money even though he spent over $43,000 of our money and guaranteed us he would see the job through even if it cost him money out of his pocket and yet in the end when we refused to give him anymore money he walked off the job never to return. This left us with an unfinished addition that we cannot move our children into and no money left to hire another contractor to finish the job.Desired Settlement: We want a refund of $24,000 which is the estimate we were given to finish the job by a legitimate contractor we brought in after [redacted] walked off the job.
