J&L Distributing failed to return a vacuum that I "traded in" after I decided to cancel my purchase of one of their productsI purchased a Kirby vacuum from one of J&L's door to door sales reps on Sunday 6/21/15. The purchase price was $2,107 plus the "trade in" of my existing [redacted] vacuum.On Monday 6/22/15, my wife and I decided to cancel the purchase transaction, which is allowable under the 3 day right of cancellation rule. Under this rule, J&L is contractually obligated to refund my money and return my vacuum within 10 business days. On the 11th business day following the delivery of the cancellation notice, we heard from the sales rep. He stopped by our house at 8:30pm and, after attempting to save the sale, took back the Kirby vacuum. He made no mention of refunding our $2,107 but did mention that he would get us our vacuum back "soon".After several attempts to get the vacuum back via the sales rep and one in-person visit to J&L's location to attempt to locate our vacuum, we still have not received our [redacted] vacuum back. It is now 7/16/15. Further, J&L never voluntarily refunded my $2,107 purchase price. I was forced to contest the charge with my credit card company.Desired SettlementBecause both my wife and I as well as J&L's staff has been unable to locate our [redacted] vacuum and return it to us, we are seeking a replacement of a comparable [redacted] vacuum model.Final Consumer Response Business fully reimbursed us the cost of a replacement vacuum, but only did so pending the promise of small claims court litigation if resolution did not occur.

Got a brand new Kirby just by upgrading an already wonderful machine....the demonstrator and demonstration was an A+ and my new friend Kayla...is like a daughter to me already....if you think your Kirby is the best vacuum cleaner in the world then you will absolutely love the new 100th Anniversary edition Avalir....lightweight and more maneuverable then the previous ones...check it out and definitely get it demonstrated....awesome machine and people behind the machine too.","pos-8

Initially bought a new Kirby Avalir on 8-12-16, seemed good but after the salesmen left we found out that it does not clean tile floors very good. As this was one of the main reasons for purchase we returned the vacuum the next day. This is when the troubles began. They had taken our "old" vacuum as part of the deal and they could not find it at first to give it back to us. This process took 5 days to get our old vacuum returned. When they finally brought it back it was missing some key attachments ( the wand brush and stair cleaner). They also took $30 for "cleaning supplies". I have called and called and texted my salesman. Finally one month later I got my $30 back. The salesman took pictures of my vacuum (model #, and serial) because they couldn't find my attachments. Last week we get a box in the mail with two attachments that were filthy, not ours, and the wrong ones for our vacuum. I am beyond frustrated with J&L.

Nate was a WONDERFUL salesman!
By far the best door-to-door sales experience we've ever had.
Nate was very kind, patient, and understanding. We did not feel pressured whatsoever like we usually feel with other sales experiences.
We've wanted a Kirby for a very long time, not just for the reputation but because we have children with severe medical issues (allergies/eczema/asthma). The level of cleanliness the Kirby offers compared to a normal vacuum is astounding.
