Review: J & L fences( Jerry) contracted with me to tear down my fence and rebuild it. He verbally told me it would only take 4-5 days. I have a signed contractstating everything that he would do, including, staining the fence. when he did not start within two days ,I called him. That evening he came over and tore down most of the fence. I have not been able to contact him since then. I Have called several times and no answer . Once I talked to a woman and she said that he had a tooth problem. He will not return calls or answer the phone.Desired Settlement: I want my money back$754.00

Review: Contracted with J L Painting to paint fence. Gave [redacted] a check for $209 to buy materials for painting. Work was contracted to begin on December 6, 2012 and be completed by December 7, 2012. [redacted] did not show up on the 7th (two phone calls to him with his promise that he was on his way). Said he would be here by 7:30 the morning of December 7th; he has not arrived. Phone call to [redacted] went to voice mail. The check has been cashed with no service, and evidently no intention of doing work.Desired Settlement: I want $209 returned....I do not want him to do the work since he has not shown any competence in his ability to honor his word and contract.

Review: We hired this business to perform fence repair, including replacing broken/missing rails and pickets, power washing and sealing. The owner has failed to complete this work. He replaced some of the pickets and three rails and power washed one side of the fence. He failed to complete replacing about four feet of missing pickets, leaving a hole in the fence bigger than when he started. He has not finished power washing the fence. He has not sealed any of the fence. He has left materials and trash in our yard. The owner also showed up at our house one night at 3:00 a.m. in the morning and attempted to work in the dark.Desired Settlement: Given the unreliable nature of this contractor, we would prefer that refund at least half our money ($150.00) so that we can hire someone else to complete this job.

Review: I have paid [redacted] $300 and have not received the service I requested which is to have a deck built in my back yard. He came over on 5/3 to collect the money but did not place the post. He also agreed to come back on 5/4 @ 7:30 in the morning to do the job and as of now I have not seen or heard from him as of 5/9. I now have wood all over my back yard and I have no idea what to do with it. I am a single mom and just wanted something nice for me and my son and now I am out of $300. I have been calling since 5/4/13 and have not received any call backs and now his phone # is no longer in service.Desired Settlement: I would either want my deck finish or my money back, but at this point my money back will be th best option.
