Review: In July, 2012, I contracted with J. Matthews Construction, through [redacted], to do some grout work for my shower surround. [redacted] (###-###-####) was assigned the job. [redacted]'s job description read, "Remove existing grout. Replace with latex modified white, unsanded grout. "We" (he) believe(s) that the grout in the shower currently (and suspect in the past) has not been modified. A latex modified grout will repel moisture that causes mold and mildew." Upon completion of initial work on July 31, 2012, five months later [redacted] returned (November 6, 2012) to assess the problem, again, as the mold and mildew had returned. [redacted] made some touch ups and indicated that if further problems ensued, he would return with his boss to assess the problem. Within six months (June, 2013), again, the problem returned. However, to date, [redacted] has not made good on his "guarantee" of work/services. Since June 18, 2013, I have made a half-dozen or more attempts to contact [redacted] to fix the problem. He returned my phone calls on two separate occasions, but I missed them both. I returned his calls, but have not heard from him.Desired Settlement: Requesting refund of $450 for work rendered that did not meet the "guaranteed" time frame of three years, as cited on the contract. I have given [redacted] ample opportunity to remedy the problem, which includes making numerous phone calls to him, but to no avail.[redacted] ###-###-####
