Review: Incomplete product and improper installation of stairwell railing.

The stairwell commissioned from JP Construction was not completed: the welding of one section is 1/2 inch too short, parts were left unpainted, the wood handrail was not smooth, and metal splinters were not removed. The new railing does not completely match the old railing (which this same company built and installed years previously).

The installation of the stairwell was not completed or installed to the minimum standards (which was promised): bolts were not drilled into the floor for security of the railing (0/4 bolts were installed; zero of four). Only 2 screws were used to secure the entire 9-1/2 foot railing. Of the two screws used for support, the lower support section is 1/2 inch too short, so there is a gap between the railing and the wall where the screw fits in.

I have been calling and leaving voice mail messages JP Construction almost daily (mon-fri) for two weeks. I have never had a return call. The one time someone answered the phone, they promised to send someone out to "check it out sometime today or tomorrow." No one ever showed. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone there since, nor have they ever returned my calls or messages.Desired Settlement: I want the railing to be finished and to be properly installed. For $1190.00, I expect a professional job.

If JP Construction refuses to complete this job, then I want my money back.

I did not do the work for this [redacted]. I built and installed a handrailing for and [redacted] I was hired by her. She was happy with it and approved it and paid me. [redacted] only wanted 2 bolts in it so that she could remove it when they moved and then they would reinstall it and bolt it properly when they left. If they failed to install it properly after they removed it I had no control over that. There was not any gap either when we installed it. As I said Her and her husband were happy with it and they are the ones that hired me for the work.

JP Construction is refusing to be honorable in this arrangement. I do not accept their answer, but it is obvious they will change the story and lie to avoid having to complete the job.

I do not know what [redacted] and [redacted]'s agreement was. I only know that I was hired by [redacted] and that her and her husband specificaly told me they did not want it installed! They only wanted it wanted it attached at the top wall connection because they did not want any holes put in the floor or walls if they could avoid it. I requested they put at least 2 in it. They wanted it so it could be removed when they moved. So that is what we did. If [redacted] and her had other aggrements that was between them. I did not see who the check was from nor did it matter because she was resposible for payment because she is the one I contracted with. When [redacted] called me I did not give him any information about cost because that was between [redacted] and I. If she wanted to discuss it with somebody else that is her choice. I do not. Again This was an aggrement between [redacted] and I. I built it and installed per her specifications. I had not even heard of [redacted] until a few weeks after she had contracted me and I had started building the railing. He needs to take this matter up with Her and her husband.

Review: This company is owned by two brothers, [redacted] and [redacted]. I started out working with [redacted], when he went to jail, I had to continue with [redacted] balked at everything I said [redacted] and I had agreed on as far as work on my house. I had a water leak, the hall bathroom and kitchen had to be repaired. When [redacted] took over, he trumped up all new charges of what he called extra work and bullied me into paying saying he was coming back in a few days to finish. He never came back, we had very ugly texts where he threatened me, accused me of all kinds of crazy stuff, was very hateful. I finally had to tell him not to show up at my house again or I would call the police. I now know that he did all that because he was not capable of finishing my kitchen.The island has formica on the top that is all coming off and raw edges. There is a list of things left undone (cleanup kind of things in the bathroom and kitchen). There are also materials missing. Extra tiles, flooring, drawer handles. There is glue all over the bathroom floor, phone jack is hanging out of wall, hole in the wall, etcDesired Settlement: Since there is work left undone, I consider this property damage (holes in walls, raw edges, etc). I also over paid him, I was never given a copy of the bid to the insurance co, or an invoice. It is going to cost me $100.00 to cleanup all his messes, and $500.00 to repair/finish my island. Which by the way will NOT match the other countertops. So they should refund me minimum of $600.00, I will take that. If I get no response, they need to know I will be suing for ten times that amount.

I am very unhappy with the quality of work Jeff performed for me. I would not work with him again. I feel that the money I paid him was poorly spent.
