Review: Haircut and color was not what I asked for after 5 hours in salon and $330.00 later. They refuse to refund my money, please see attached photos.

On Saturday, 28 Sep 2013, I had an appointment at 2:00 for a color and cut. My boyfriend and I showed the stylist, [redacted], a photo, and even brought a wig in to show him the color blonde we wanted. We also wanted full blunt bangs and some layers in my hair. After 5 hours and 7:00 pm, it was very dim lighting in the salon and we couldn't see what the color really looked like, my boyfriend paid the bill and we left. It wasn't until we got home that we realized the color was no way near what we wanted and the cut was no layers and the bangs looked like they had been thinned out. It was like everything we had asked for was 100% just the opposite. We called first thing Tuesday morning because they were closed on Sunday and Monday. This guy [redacted] who said he was the owner, but later we found out was the Receptionist did not want to hear anything we had to say and only told us that I would have to come back in and [redacted] would redo it. I told him I wanted a complete refund. He told me to send some photos, which I did, and finally after not hearing from them and calling the property manager for Ward Warehouse they finally replied back via email with a nasty email saying they weren't going to refund anything. It got so ugly that they had the stylist call my boyfriend late at night, who doesn't even live on this island and blame this whole incident on me for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, all my hair keeps falling out, my scalp is like sandpaper, I have all kind of photos to back this up, and all they can say is that I loved the color and the cut when I left there. That is so far from the truth. The real owner never once contacted me whatsoever and I am now going to be taking legal action regarding this whole ordeal. I plan on going to small claims court and I already have an attorney. [redacted] said If they paid everyone back that complained they would be out of business. Well guess what, I am not everyone and I am very upset regarding this whole situation. It is like they get your money, $330.00, and then make you look like the criminal and a freak from the circus. Everyone that has seen my hair, still can't figure out what color this is. Is this anyway to run a business? To this day, the owner of J Salon, who I found out is named [redacted], not [redacted], still has not made any contact with me. So I am not exactly sure if he is even aware of any of this. [redacted] is the Receptionist there so it would be pretty easy to receive these emails and not forward them to the actual owner. I just want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have attached photos to back up my story and I have plenty more so when I do get my day in court I will be ready. Desired Settlement: I am requesting a 100% refund, including the tip, for services rendered at J Salon, 210 Ward Ave., Honolulu, HI, 96814, on Saturday, 28 September 2013, with hair stylist [redacted].

During a thorough consultation prior to her hair service with [redacted] (stylist), Ms. [redacted] was informed of what [redacted] could realistically do for her given the current state of her hair. [redacted] was extremely clear that it would take a few consecutive appointments to get the desired level of lightness, taking her lighter and lighter each time.

During the checkout process on the day of her appointment, Ms. [redacted] was smiling ear-to-ear and going on about how much she loved what [redacted] did and how she was "treated like royalty". She even scheduled her next appointment as suggested by [redacted] to take her lighter. The appointment was scheduled for 11/22/2013.

Our salon is well lit and it is not dark as Ms. [redacted] claims. In addition, our changing rooms, that Ms. [redacted] changed in before checking out are extremely well lit and have a 4'x3' backlit mirror and overhead lighting precisely for the reason of allowing the client to see their hair very clearly to make sure they like their hair before they leave the salon.

During a phone call a few days after the service, Ms. [redacted] shouted at me that [redacted] did the "exact opposite" of what she wanted." Despite the fact that [redacted] did exactly what he discussed with Ms. [redacted] during his consultation with her at the beginning of her service, I suggested that she come into the salon so we can take a look at her hair and adjust whatever she is now unhappy with for free. When Ms. [redacted] said that she didn't want to go back to [redacted], I told her she could go to any one of our stylists. Ms. [redacted] continued to raise her voice and talk over me until she was screaming on the phone. We have tried to resolve the issue but Ms. [redacted]'s combative, hostile and disrespectful nature have made that impossible. There is nothing more we are willing to offer her.

First of all the person who responded is not the owner of "J Salon" he is the receptionist. Second, the company had 30 days to respond to my complaint and failed to do that. I have photos of what they did to my hair before and after that I will be sending via separate e-mail because this program does not allow me to attach them. They did not say I could go back to any hair stylist, they said it would have to be [redacted] and I never said anything such thing as I was treated like royalty, etc. I served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and never in my entire life have I ever felt so harassed the way I feel this company treated me. Everything that "J Salon" submitted in their response is nothing but lies. The receptionist continuously pretends to be the owner when I know for a fact he is not the owner. What I can't seem to understand is why can't my complaint make it to the owner of "J Salon? Why is that so hard.

The results of Ms. [redacted]'s services were exactly as discussed in her consultation. As stated the previous response, despite having done exactly as was discussed, I offered to have Ms. [redacted]'s hair adjusted at no charge. She refused and there is nothing more our company is willing to do for Ms. [redacted] at this point.
