Review: hi I feel like I was taken advantage of and over charged for the service.I call [redacted](if that is his real name)and asked him to come out.he did. but with himself and anther guy ([redacted] if thats his realname)and I was charged for 2 guys two different rates.when I asked about it I was told this is what it is. so if he was to show up with 5 guys I would have to pay 5 different rates and pay for 5 different guys ? I dont think so. I called 1 guy if he wants to bring someone else thats his problem and it should be on his dime not on mine.and I was never told I would be paying for the extra guy (such a rip off)..then it just better he had to come out 4 differnet time to fix a problem that should of gotten taken care of on one visit. and like any crook he charged me the full rate everytime he came out.so when he was there for 5-10 min I got charged for 1-1.5 hours so not right or fare. so I payed him for his time but not the other guys time. I feel like I an beig taken advantage of big time. I would never do business with this company again. they will take advantage of you . please dont be the fool I was and let this happen you.I cant believe he would do such a thing because I got his name from a friend of mine.and [redacted] was talking about god and stuff so you think he would be ok but nope a crook just like a crook..never use this company unless you want to be ripped off !!!!!!10Desired Settlement: not to pay for the extra guy the rip off part .....I already pay him$650... what a joke you cant trust anyone anymore. please contact me .....

I received the email with the complaint from [redacted] As I explained to you on the phone last week, this complaint came as no surprise to me because not only was he a new customer, but he never asked what our hourly rate was prior to the work being done. When he called [redacted], which, yes is his real name, I don't know why he would indicate that perhaps I made our mens' names up on the invoices, but he simply said he needed work done. This doesn't normally happen with a new customer. They usually ask what our rates are and whether or not we charge for travel time, which we do. At any rate, the whole thing with him not wanting to pay for the second man is ridiculous. Of course 5 guys, as he stated in his complaint, would not show up at his house. Five guys can't even fit into one truck, that's just being ridiculous. However, most of the jobs we go on require 2 men and even if they don't, we cannot drive one guy back and forth from the shop all day to sit there depending on the job. Even with [redacted]'s work, while some of the work may not have needed both men; it went quicker because there were 2men. So essentially what would have maybe taken [redacted] 3 hours, it only took 1.5 hrs because [redacted] was with him. In addition, it's cheaper for the customer because I would've billed [redacted] $240.00 for 3 hours with [redacted], but at 1.5 hrs. with [redacted] the labor is $195.00. Finally, his complaint that what took 3 times out there to fix, should've only been one time is just nonsense and he knows it. The first time we went there, which was a Friday, there was no problem, he just wanted his Furnace cleaned, which we did and when we left everything was working properly. The next day he called and said he was having a problem with the furnace. [redacted] went out there and it was a transformer on the oil burner that had gone bad, so we replaced it. The following day, he called again and it was Sunday, [redacted] went out to him and the primary control had gone bad and luckily we had one on the truck. I never charged him time and a half for the Sunday call, which I normally would. [redacted] lives in [redacted] which is not exactly around the corner from our shop. He got billed for a total of 6 hours for [redacted] at $80.00 an hour which is very fair for our area, and a total of 2 hours for [redacted] at $50.00 an hour. I believe [redacted] was with him on Friday, the first time we went out there and prior to that [redacted] and [redacted] were on a job that day about an hour from [redacted] which was a job that required two men. I am sorry [redacted] feels that way he does, but we've been in business for over 60 years and have several hundred customers. We do our best to keep them all happy and our prices fair, however, every once in a while we'll get a new customer that wouldn't be happy no matter what. Our men do excellent work and work to excel at their job each and every day. [redacted] was not taken advantage of nor was he ripped off. Thank you. Should you need anything further, please feel free to call me. [redacted]

Review: Hi efficiency gas furnace shuts off in cold weather. I spoke to Yaun and they will only say I insisted I buy that type. The word "insist" belies the fact that they told me I had no other choice. This is a classic " blame the customer" and avoidance of responsibility. We are heating one room of the house to live in with a woodstove, but we cannot leave the house for fear it will cause damage to pipes.Desired Settlement: I believe [redacted], instead of acting like we were in the wrong should instead act with humanity. It is 9 degrees outside and I am a retiree, not a criminal or con artist. I will pay for any materials despite the fact that my hi efficiency furnace will now be low efficiency because I will have to pay for electric heating. Either that or they can replace the heater with a low efficiency model, which , ironically, will be cheaper for me to run.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by [redacted]'s Sons Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The Yaun Company is more interested in blaming customers than in serving their needs. Yes, it is true I was attracted to the idea of a high efficiency gas furnace. In these times of high prices, and on a fixed income, who wouldn't be? The heater they sold me was intended for a basement or a heated room, not for a garage on a house built on a slab. When I complained they held to the line "You insisted on high efficiency." Of course, I am not qualified and that's why I had them come to the house before I bought their furnace. Finally, I got electric heat installed in the furnace room to heat the heater. Of course, I will spend a lot of money on electric heat that does not heat my house. As a result, not only will I NOT save money, but my overall heating bill will go up. I think I should sue the company, but that is not something I want to do. Eventually, if I find out the bill is too high for the electric heating of my gas heater, I will have to get a different furnace, and I will have no other option other than remove the one I purchased and take it to the metal recycler.
