Jack Metzer Ford Lincoln Mercury VW - Volvo Of Danville Reviews (1)

Review: I brought my vehicle to this dealership confident that since they are a dealership for the type of vehicle I have, that they would do the best job. I stated to them it had a few issues. But the car runs and drive great, which it did. I just wanted them to look over it and make sure there was nothing major that I could not detect. The day after, one of the service men called me to let me know that they thought the car had been in a accident before I purchased it and was in such bad shape that it should not be driven. I was told something was wrong with the timing chain, the electrical system , the ab brakes, and the module in the fuel pump was bad. They never gave me a set price on how much it would all cost. But they did say it would be over 2000 dollars. I could not afford near that. So I asked how much I owed them for the diagnostic, Which was I believe around 160 dollars. Be aware, I was never told prior that it would cost that much just to tell me whats wrong. Then they proceeded to tell me that when my car was in there possession something happened and the car would no longer go past 35mph. Again I'll say "the car ran and drove great before I let them look at it" They said something must be wrong with the transmission and that they would see whats wrong. At that time I was under the Impression that since they obviously did something to cause that to happen that they would fix the problem with no charge to me. So a couple days later they call me again, couldn't figure out why something called (lock home mode) was on and not allowing the car to shift. They said to come get the car and that I owed them 340 dollars! That's alot of money for them to not even fix anything. Actually they did nothing but make my car worse. I could barley drive it home when I picked it up. It wouldn't shift any higher then the first gear it seemed, so I had to drive so slow I was getting beeped at, when I would press on the brakes the car shook and vibrated! I was devastated. I gave them my hard earned money for them to just break my car to the point where I can't even drive it now. I don't know what to do at this point. I feel they should have had the decency to at least return the car to me in the shape it was in when I dropped it off. At least then I would have still been able to drive it and get where I need to go everyday. I am so unsatisfied with this dealership and they should pay for there mistakes. I will never bring any of my vehicles to this dealership ever again and I am telling anyone that says they are bring there car there, not to.Desired Settlement: I want my car to be returned to the condition it was in when I first dropped it off with the dealership and at no charge to me. They caused the problems its having, I am confident of that. I should NOT have to pay for there mistakes.

Response:

as a dealer we are very concerned with customer satisfaction and as you know there are two sides to every complaint. yes [redacted] did bring her vehicle in for service as I look at the repair order I see the concerns stated by the customer are the following, check for noise in engine pulley area, screen display for temp works intermittently, fuel tank fills to half only on gauge and finally air bags are not hooked up what would it cost to make operational. our technician brought the car into the repair shop and immediatley noticed that the car was in limp home mode meaining the car will not go over 35 mph, please keep in mind up to this point this car has never been driven or looked at by our shop or a mechaninc an any way, this leads me to believe the car was already placed in this mode our tech repoted this to our svc mngr asap due to fact that test driving the car represents a severe safety issue with our employees. [redacted] our service mngr notified [redacted] that a noise is coming from the engine and that the engine would have to be removed to diagnose the issue, we recommended that they should diagnose the trans first before going any further, [redacted] boyfriend or husband came in and talked to [redacted] and agreed to the trans job, we found that broken wires to be the problem and told him we could spend countless hours and at this point he said to go no further which we ceased all work. again thank you for listening to our side of the story we firmly believe that every step was taken in the proper direction to save the customer from fixing a car that would not be feasible for them thank you [redacted]
