Jack's in Natomas
I have been a long time supporter of the Midtown Jack's location. That location is great, good staff & the food is always super fresh.

I cannot say I have had the same experience at the Natomas location. After three bad experiences, I am don't stopping there. The first time I came in, a female staff member with long hair was making salads...WITHOUT having their hair pulled back. It was hovering over the toppings for the salads. I mentioned that she should have her hair secured when working with food. She got rude, said she was allow to wear it down if she tucked it behind her ears. That grossed me out & it took me close to a year to try again. The second time, the food was so bad I threw out my take out order. Today, I tried to eat at your location one last time. The salad I ordered was gross. All of the lettuce was wilted or had turned that rotten red color. It was so obvious that the food was bad. Unfortunately, I was already back at work when I opened my food & had to throw the salad away. I didn't want to risk getting food poisoning & I shouldn't have to settle for that. The Natomas location does not meet the normal Jack's standards. I really hope you take a look at the quality of your food & your employees. Especially since people can get sick from eating spoiled food.

On 8/5/2017 at 12:04 PM, I visited Jack's Urban eats in Loehman's Plaza in Sacramento with my mom and 1 1/2 year old daughter. We were stoked that there was hardly anyone there.

The lady who took our order told us we'd get the side up front - of course we've been to this place a zillion times with my entire family of 5, and knew the drill)

Our order came to over $16, which sounded about right for our sandwhich with urban fries and kid's meal (no drinks).

We sat and waited...and waited...and waited...

Finally, after 15 minutes, my daughter was getting antsy and done with mac n cheese, I went up front and asked about our meal - the lady checked around a bit, then grabbed our sandwich, which had obviously been sitting by the register. I then asked about our kid's chicken..."you didn't order a kid's chicken" - I told her, yes I did, and I know the lady heard me, because she told me I'd get the side for it up front. The manager came and talked to me and I explained.

And my urban fries (most important part)?! The fries on my plate were plain.

I was pretty frustrated by this point .

They both then told me I hadn't ordered the urban fries or kid's chicken, and that they'd happily charge me for the items.

I was ticked - I had waited 16 mins (I checked the time on the receipt) when people after me were being served, and she wasn't apologizing or offering to simply make something.

She was handling things so poorly! I explained that she probably she comp something in my meal, since I was dealing with a frustrated 1 1/2 year old and it was their mistake! It wasn't the money, it was principle.

She then offered to make the kid's chicken and we waited. I explained to my mom, and she was like, what about the fries?! You know that's the most important part!

I went up to the manager, and said, hey, can you make the urban fries too? She then charged me $1.62 (the additional since they'd made a mistake in ringing me up, and had only charged an additional $2.25).

I was actually floored.

Again, I felt they'd screwed up several times (forgetting to bring out my order, forgetting my daughter's meal, and forgetting our URBAN FRIES!

Honestly, I have paid so much at Jack's so many times, and have never had this bad of experience. You'd think a $60 order would have problems (with a huge line too), but no, no line and a tiny order.

It's difficult to find out how to complain to corporate, but my family and I left with a very bad feeling about our treatment.

They acted like we were trying to get free food (totally insulting) when actually, it was PRINCIPLE! I was trying to get them to rectify their several mistakes that cost me time (that I don't have a lot of...and I was hungry!).

My "host" was "Monique" - I spoke to a female manager, who's name I don't know.

Review: I visited Jack's Urban Eats on 3/24/14 at 7:14pm and ordered a Western BBQ Tri-tip salad to go. Once home, I realized my salad had been prepared wrong and was missing key ingredients. I tried calling the store, but Jack's does not accept phone calls. They closed by the time I got home and discovered the error, so I could not return that night. I looked up the information for the owner, [redacted], and wrote him a letter that same night asking for a refund, mailing it the next day. I have not heard from the store or the owner since.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund or gift certificate to cover the cost of my bill, which was $11.88. I have proof of payment (my original receipt), along with the copy of the letter I mailed to the owner.
