Jackson Motor Co Reviews (1)

Jackson motor company sold me a bad vehicle knowing it was defective. They refuse to take it back. Jackson motor company will say anything to sell a car. I purchased a car about a year ago and was told by [redacted] that it was in great shape. I was sceptical because I know nothing about cars and was shopping alone. I trusted him and purchased the car. No more than a week and I had to take it to a shop and was told it had several problems. I informed jmc of this and they told me they would not fix it..after some time they changed their mind and took the vehicle back to "fix" it but it was returned with the same problems. It has been over a full year now and I haven't had a moment of peace with this vehicle. It breaks down everywhere I go. I have missed several days of work because I don't have a vehicle or a ride. I live in memphis now and have no family here other than my husband and every time I leave my house I have to worry about my car breaking down. After my vehicle was returned unfixed I called and told [redacted] and she said "let me call and tell [redacted] and I will call you right back.. so next day comes and I call again a different guy answers the phone and I asked for [redacted].. he asked for my name when I told him he says.."she's on the phone with someone" I waited 2 hours and called again and he said "she's with a customer" I then got my car jumped off so I could drive it an hour and a half to their dealership and when I got in town I called AGAIN and [redacted] answers and I said "I have my vehicle in town can I please drop it off bc it Still isn't fixed and I can't turn off the car without it dying" and she says "oh I need to talk to the owner" which is what she was suppose to be doing for the past few days!! She then said she would talk to him and call me RIGHT BACK. My mom sat with me in my car that I couldn't turn off and we waited and waited and guess what NEVER GOT A CALL. I've never seen people so rude in all my like, to take advantage of a 20 year old girl. They have some nerve. I'm now stuck with a car that has given me [redacted] for a year and they have not only not resolved the problem but have been very rude. Very bad business people. Thought [redacted] was a good guy but they are definitely out for themselves and don't care what lies they tell to sell a very damaged car.Desired SettlementI do not want the car I bought due to faulty description of the vehicle. I want a full refund due to all the money I have spent on this vehicle and all the work missed. Business Response The complainant opens the case with the statement of "sold me a bad vehicle knowing that it was defective". The said vehicle was purchased on 2/26/2014. Before this vehicle was offered for sale, it was inspected by an ASE certified technician on 01/10/2014, and repairs were made as directed by him, with a total repair bill of $1105.55. We, as the respondents to the complaint, contest the opening statement as it seems peculiar that we would a) have intentions of offering 'bad' vehicles for sale after bearing the expense/due diligence of a pre-sale inspection, and b)that we would know that a vehicle was 'defective' after completing all repairs (again, pre-sale) deemed necessary by a certified technician. Furthermore, the buyer was provided a Carfax history report on the vehicle, which showed no previous damage or accidents, and also had service records showing that the vehicle had been properly cared for.Based on these facts, Jackson Motor Company had every reason to believe the said vehicle to be as 'sound' as any other pre-owned vehicle that has ever been offered for sale. When issues arose after the sale, Jackson Motor Company did what we still believe to be the "right" thing, even though the buyer accepted delivery of the vehicle with full knowledge that no warranty had been expressed nor implied. Below, we have listed a summary of those actions that were taken by us in efforts of good faith when we were not otherwise obligated to do so.1) Took the complainant's vehicle back and performed repairs at our expense less than one month after delivery. 2) Made repairs on another occasion, again at our expense, this time at a repair facility designated by the complainant.3) Provided the complainant with courtesy transportation every time that the said vehicle was in for repair. It is our estimation that the complainant was in a courtesy (company owned) vehicle for an accumulated time period of 3-4 months of time, at Jackson Motor Company's voluntary expense.4) When service issues with the vehicle continued to arise, Jackson Motor Company installed an engine in the complainant's vehicle (with 55,000 less miles) bearing 100% of the expense electively, with none of that expense being shared by the complainant.5) When the complainant was still unsatisfied with the vehicle, Jackson Motor Company offered to trade her into a completely different vehicle. This transaction was unable to be completed because a)the complainant's creditworthiness had deteriorated, and b) complainant had subjected the involved vehicle to body/crash damage since she had acquired the vehicle. We were under the impression that the complainant was bringing the vehicle to us on 3/18/2015, and it is unclear to us why the complainant would travel from Memphis to Jackson and "wait to be called back". We understood the complainant to be coming to our place of business, upon which complimentary transportation would be once again extended, exclusively at our expense. It is the belief of Jackson Motor Company that we have gone "above and beyond" in our effort to be certain that the complainant was completely satisfied. We have exhausted each and every avenue available to us to rectify every concern we were notified about. We further believe that our actions exemplify an automobile dealer with the utmost sense of integrity & compassion [redacted] its customers.
