[redacted] came on 7/6/to our shop with his Mitsubishi Lancer, we replaced the windshield with no problem, but while replacing the w/s we noticed that the hood latch is missing safety hook, due to previous accident, On 7/9/8am [redacted] came and us me for the warranty on the w/s, I politely explained, that it covers manufacturer defects, stress cracks (w/s cracks with no rock chip or visual impact ), distortion, or any bad quality of the product for one year, it doesn't cover any rock chips, road hazard, vandalism.Been installing auto glass over years, its very common, when due to no safety hook for the hood, fails or driver don't close the hood properly, hood opens on the freeway and slams against windshield, this exactly what happened in this case, attached photos clearly shows that the w/s smashed by the hood at the high speed due to safety hook failure, understand his frustration, We offered him discounted price for the second windshield, which he rejected [redacted] started threatening to close our business, yelling to other customers not to use our shop, so I had to ask him to please leave,Later during the day Bills parents in law stopped by the shop wondering what happened, I explained them the situation, and that hood latch and the safety hook need to be fixed or replaced before installing new w/s, they were very polite and surprised that [redacted] lied to them about opened hood,
