I would not recommend JAG Construction to anyone MrF* is far from being an honest businessman - quite frankly I found him to be unethical and a liar The lousy job done on my home will have to be corrected

to Complaint # [redacted]The
problem has never been with the “pitch of the roof” but the price of the job.  Ms. [redacted] initially wanted a 15 x
20 patio.  When I quoted her the price,
she stated it was “too high”.  That is
when we went to a smaller patio, 15 x 16, for a...

cheaper price.The
measurements for Ms. [redacted]’s property on the side setbacks were not matching
the County’s survey plot of the land.  Her side setbacks were incorrect which I had to consult with the County
to get it corrected (her side setbacks were showing too close to the property
line which made it impossible to build the patio she requested).  Ms. [redacted] thought she owned the property
next to hers but County records indicated otherwise.I
than began the process of building the smaller patio.  I obtained the building permits and created building
plans.  I started demoing and digging the
footing.  Once Ms. [redacted] viewed the
demo, she decided it wasn’t big enough and she went back to the larger patio,
15 x 20.Once
the patio size changed, I had to start the process all over again:  Obtaining building permits and modifying
building plans.  I even had a
Chesterfield Building Official, Ms. [redacted], and myself on a telephone call to
explain/clarify that the process for the amended plans would take over a weeks’
time (since the process had started all over again).Upon
termination of the contract by Ms. [redacted], I provided her a breakdown of the
costs for the work that had been completed.  I am in the process of sending Ms. [redacted] a refund of her deposit minus
the costs incurred.I
wish Ms. [redacted] good luck on getting her patio built but she needs to
understand that a change in scope will cause a delay in completion of the
project.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] from the company and he says that he will be out to the consumer's house by Wednesday November 6,2013 to fix her roof for her.

Review: I was contacted by George [redacted] after I contacted an online referral service looking to put a patio on my home. When he came to give me an estimate I asked for the porch to extend out but he told me I could not do that because the pitch of the roof would not allow it, so I agreed to a smaller porch. We signed a contract that he wrote stating the work would be complete in thirty days. He applied for permits because he put his measurements in wrong several times, it took 30 days to get a permit. Once we finally got a permit, he sent a framer, which was subcontracted, out to demo exsisting brick work. The framer then told me George does not do any of the work and subcontracts out all of his work and that I can have the large patio I wanted the pitch does not have anything to do with it. Upon learning this I told George that I wanted my patio as I had originally requested. He went to the county attempting to get a new permit, again putting setbacks in wrong, and blaming the county for taking so long. 7 days after the county requested revisions he still hadn't done it. I then told him I wanted my deposit back. He refused and has charged me $ 1,400. Which I still have not received.Desired Settlement: I want people to be warned that he is not a contractor and uneducated about construction as well as applying for permits. He was hard to communicate with and did not fulfill his part of the contract.
