Good morning,  Mr. [redacted] had his car towed in on Oct 26 2017 for the engine not starting. He authorized $198.00 diagnosis fee at 9:15 am. We found we needed to remove the front cover to inspect the timing chains and tensioners. He then authorized $1188.00. once we had removed the...

cover we found the tensioners had come apart and required very extensive repairs. He decided to tow the vehicle and paid the $1188.00 on line. He then contested the charges with his credit card company which we disputed. The credit card company decided in our favor and the charges stood. We have full documentation of Mr. [redacted]s authorization for the diagnosis and his payment he submitted on line. Please let me know if you have any further questions.  Thank you,

I received my car back with nothing fixed.. It was in worse shape than I dropped it off in. I paid them $1188 to fix nothing.. There is no way possible that it was the timing chain. I had my Jaguar at a shop a couple of days before I had it dropped off at Land Rover jag. The shop I had it at couldn't find the problem. They said the chain was fine. What happen is that they found the problem and tried to price at 8k. So I did not want to do business with them. I'm not asking for the whole $1188. I'm asking for my $952. I was told $200 to look at the car and find the problem. Once the problem is found then I would get the price to fix that problem.

Good morning Mr. [redacted],   We have not offered anything to the customer as he did authorize the labor time and amount for the diagnosis. It is unfortunate that he does not want to pay for what he authorized.   Thank you,

I have reached out to the customer and I am looking as to why the part is taking so long to arrive. I will follow up with the customer within a few days with my findings.

Review: I purchased a 2011 pre owned BMW 335i. Prior to the purchase I was told that the car went through their thorough inspection and is clean and in good operating condition. I trusted that to be true and purchased the car. Approximately 4 weeks later, the car was due for service. I took the car to Irvine BMW and they showed me that all four tires had "dri-rot" and were literally chunking apart. They said that they would never allow a car to leave their lot in this condition as it is very dangerous. They said that the tires could fall apart at anytime. I had asked them if this could of happened from the time I purchased the car and they said absolutely not. Dri Rot happens if the tires are sitting for a long time in the heat and unused. The car had approx 18,500 when I purchased it. Out of panic, I asked them to replace the tires which they did. I then called Land Rover Newport and spoke to [redacted] who said he was a sales manager at the dealership. [redacted] challenged me and said that the BMW service people were "hard selling" to get me to buy new tires. I told him that was not the case and that 3 different people inspected the tire and showed me. I sent [redacted] a photograph of the chunking tire, [redacted] then said that they don't pay retail prices. I told him that I paid a wholesale price and gave him that amount. He then said that he would ask another person and follow up with me. Later that evening, [redacted] sent a rather trite email and said that I should have taken the car to them to inspect and because I did not, he will not reimburse me for the tires. I explained that I was already at great risk driving the car with my family and was not going to take further risk to drive all the way to his dealership so they could look at it. I reminded him that the photograph showed the tire chunking and how dangerous that was and how fortunate we were that an accident didn't happen. He was short and said to me "as a business man, you should understand policy and procedureDesired Settlement: My desired outcome is for this dealership to reimburse me the cost of the tires and installation which was just over $1,000.00. I was able to get a wholesale price on both tires and labor and told them that but they still refused to pay for it.
