We will mail to Mr. [redacted] and the BBB.We are not clear what Mr. [redacted] means when he says:”It should show that they did not include a service contract on a yearly basis also the finance charge. Both were added to my account a later date without my consent.”As previously stated, the service policy was billed every year in May. So, the transaction history will clearly show this, the billing in May. We can’t take it off. We did not, do not bill service policies in one lump sum. Nor do we bill finance charges in one lump sum. Our computer system calculates finance charges only on overdue balances on a monthly basis. The transaction history will clearly show the monthly billing of finance charges.Again, we call attention to the terms of the service policy which states that policy will automatically renew each year. If the customer does not wish the policy, they are free to call us and cancel the policy right after it’s billed. Since Mr. [redacted] never called us to cancel the policy nor dispute it, and in fact utilized it many times over the years, 22 times, then the service policies were in effect.So, after reviewing the transaction history, we can say that service policies from previous years were in fact paid. Except for the service policy billed in May of this year, which we are crediting, Mr. [redacted] balance today consists of oil deliveries and finance charges.We wish to thank Mr. [redacted] for his business. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint from Mr*.Mr* has had a service policy with us since becoming a customer back in and it has always billed on his May 31st statement. . The terms listed under our service policy read that it will renew automatically from
year to year unless we are told not renew it. MrP has never contacted us previously to cancel the service policy. In fact, the policy has been used through the years. Our records show service calls, over the last years, at no charge, since the work performed was covered by the service policy.Our statement does have a disclosure detailing how to dispute a billing error. It reads to write us no later than sixty days from which an error first appeared. The statement also gives a detailed description of how interest will accrue on overdue balances.We appreciate the years that Mr* has been a customer with us. The balance remaining on his account reflects an accurate accounting of the current amount due.Thank you
