James E. Williams & Son, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: James E. Williams & Son was contracted by the [redacted]. to re-roof. I hired them to repair a leak in the sunroof of my bedroom/bathroom at $373.91.They did not fix the problem so I had to hire another contractor for $875 to correct the problems because Williams and Son refused to fix the problem. Further, they are a corporation ([redacted]) but they are not licensed contractors. CSLB refused to take the case because their bill was less than $500.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $373.91 that I paid to James E. Williams. Also I would like this to be on file with the Revdex.com.

Please attach this along with the information that I emailed you last week.

James E Williams and Son INC. was contacted by Ms. [redacted] as a certified Duro Last Roof installer to take loose existing roofing material along one edge of roof in order for her contactor to replace rotted Fascia board. After her contractor completed his work we refastened existing roofing and made water tight. She contacted our company un happy about the water running off the edge of roof over her newly installed Fascia board. We explained the roof drain was clogged from the leaves that had now fallen on roof and when that happens the water would then have to run off roof in that area as it did before. We also added a diverter piece to try to divert water away from that area. She was still un happy. We had the roofing manufacturer’s representative come out and complete their own inspection and give their opinion.( please review previously sent report ) which was the same as ours that when the drain plugs up with debris from the tree hanging over roof that the water will then run off edge of roof.

The disturbing part of the complaint is that the work she describes is not the work we completed. Did another ( Certified duro last installer ) contractor complete other work for her? What work specifically did the other contractor complete for the $800.00

The CSLB does not have a dollar amount that they go by for reprimanding contractors that I am aware of and We are licensed. We have gone out of our way to make every effort to help her with this project. She is a very un-reasonable person with unreasonable expectations.

Thank you for your time.

Vice President

Please read attached email sent from the President off our corporation to management back in May.

Thanks You

Vice President

Per our conversation earlier you mentioned that [redacted] thought that my company was not licensed and insured. Please find attached documents showing that my company is licensed and insured. I set an appointment to meet a Duro Last Representative on site Wednesday morning at 9am to review [redacted]’s concerns regarding her roof. I have also attached copies of the contacts for the work my company performed on her home. None of the contracts state that we are re-sloping the roofs. [redacted] states that my company in some way has altered the slope of her roof causing water to exit over her new fascia trim. I have also attached pictures taken while completing the work on her home. It is very obvious that there is several trees surrounding her unit and a large amount of debris on the roof at the time of the repairs being made. My team cleared the debris from the roof while completing her repairs free of charge. When reviewing the photos also notice that there is a drain near the edge of the roof. If this drain becomes clogged with debris then the roof water will be forced to drain over the front of the roof which is the lowest point. My office staff and I have had several conversations trying to explain this to Mrs. [redacted] but she does not want to except the fact that my company has not altered her draining system of her roof. If you our any of the HOA’s Board Members would like to be there during the Wednesday meeting please join us. I am trying to take care of [redacted]’s concerns but finding it extremely difficult.

Thank You

President
