To Whom It May Concern,In response to the complaint letter from Mr***, be did indeed bring his vehicle in for a transmissionservice on March 14, 2016, which includes a new filter, new pan gasket and new fluidWe did not "flushthe system" as he states in his letterThat is a different and more
costly procedureHe has had us servicehis Ford Fbefore and the itemization information as to what our shop includes in a service isposted on the wall of the officeWe drain the old fluid and clean and examine the pan for any metal orfriction material, or if the fluid is dark or burnt to let the customer know the status of their transmissions. There was no water in the fluid when we serviced his vehicle which would make the fluid look like astrawberry milkshake and is unmistakableWe would have told him at that rime if that was the case. When he called a few weeks later and told Jaden that he had found water in the fluid, Jaden told him tobring it in and we would check it out for himUpon examination it was found that there was water in thetransmission fluid and Jaden told him that the most common reason for this scenario was that the TorqueConverter Cooler (also called a Heat Exchanger and/or Transmission Cooler) had gone badHe also toldhim that there was no telling how long the transmission would last because the frictions inside were notgoing to hold up with water in thereHe told him we could flush it fur him and he would need to replacethe heat exchanger and flush the radiator/engine and install new antifreeze as the transmission fluid alsogets into the radiatorMr*** wanted to know why he wasn't told that this could happen or why wedidn't check it or replace it at the time we serviced it Jaden tried to explain to him that this isn't anythinghe can anticipate going bad- Some vehicles go 50,miles and some go 300,miles before the heatexchanger goes badHe says he thinks we "ruptured the lines" which caused the transmission to foilWedon't come in contact with these lines at all during a serviceThe tubes inside the heat exchanger (it wouldbe like the tubes inside your radiator) crack and break internally and it"s not something we would knowwas bad until they break and get water into the system like what happened to himHe states in the letterthat be thinks we lack professional workmanship and should have replaced the part "knowing" it was goingto be an issueIt was not an issue when we serviced the truck and it would have cost him at least $500.00for the parts and labor for something that didn't need to be replaced at that timeIt was purely coincidentalthat his heat exchanger went bad after the servicelt's also a concern to us that he is accusing us of causingthis problem or that thls is a "convenient way to get business"We are a very reputable shop and have beenill business in Snohomish since and we do NOT do business that way, nor do we try to replace partsthat are not broken and thereby charge our customers unduly.Jaden bid him $for the heat exchanger, $for labor to install it (it's a 4-hour job) and$to flush the transmission and put in new fluid and $to flush the engine/radiator system andput in new Antifreeze+ tax for llllapproximate total of$There could be no guarantee becausethere is no way to know how much damage the water had already done to the transmission, but it couldperhaps help itIf not, we could rebuild it and that would have a guaranteeHe declined to leave the truckor have any repairs doneHe told Jaden he'd do it himselfHe then left our shop and we had not heardanything else from Mr*** until we received this letter from youHe said in the letter that he talked tous on April 24, 2016, but that is a Sunday and we don't work on Sunday's
It's been more than a month since be was in and we don't know if be ever bad the heat exchanger replacedor how much he drove it like that before having another shop flush itThe more he drove it and/or thelonger the water was in the system, the more damage is done to the frictions inside the transmission andwould cause it to fail.We do not feel as though there was any lack of communication or bad workmanship on our partWeserviced tbe transmission as be asked and paid for on March and there was nothing wrong with the heatexchanger at that timeThere is not one thing that our shop could have done to cause this, nor could weanticipate a time that the heat exchanger would fail The simple truth of it is just that his year old 2004Dodge truck with 218,miles on it had a part go bad that we have nothing to do with during atransmission servicelt was an untimely coincidence, but parts do break on older vehicles. We feel bad that he thinks that we did not serve him in a totally honest and upright manner concerning histruckMr*** has been a repeat customer of ours since when we rebuilt the transmission in hisF250, as well as servicing it for him and then we recently rebuilt the transmission in his Saturn. He didn't think we had any lack of communication, bad workmanship or any other questionable businesspractices in those instances.Thank you for your time in this matter and if you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free tolet us knowSincerely,
Jamie S*President
P.SSorry for the delay in our response, but my wile and I are on vacation and your letter had to beforwarded to us due to the time constraint for a replyThank you for your understanding

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I came In to have my transmission get full service and have my bands adjusted in which you failed to mention in your rebuttal because it was not itemized on the invoice and was told that the service includes all new fluids through out the whole transmission including the torque convertorThis would involve it to be hooked up to a machineIf it was just changing the filter by dropping the pan the and adding quarts of transmission fluid a back yard mechanic could do this. What did I pay over $200 for then? Since its not itemized on the invoice who knows? The only thing the invoice says is full serviceI got the full service alright. I do Know one thing though is that Jamie's transmission did make that part fail and it was not a coincidence. In the letter was also mentioned that they serviced other cars of mineYes they did rebuild my wife's Saturn Aura in which I paid dollars to Jamie's Transmission only to get a warranty for 12000miles or one yearI should have known by the warranty that the transmission was not going to last much longer than that. We have been having trouble with my wife"s car transmission and the only common denominator is Jamie's transmission and there shady practices of not replacing all components in a rebuild and only the ones that fail, but still charging as much for a complete rebuild so they can have a higher profit marginI don't know how a company stays in business with this kind of practicesI have been reluctant to take it back to them due to what just happen with my truck so I found a new honest transmission shop that I had replace my truck transmission with a year mile warranty in which they said should of been the case with my wife's transmission. They are telling me that to fix the issue it will involve dropping the transmission in my wife's carNow I would not think that a transmission that you paid $for would last for years and thousands of highway miles and come with a better warranty than year or 12,miles if they really believed and stood by there workmanship. But again if they are not rebuilding someone's transmission than they would be out of businessI see that Jamie's transmission is not wanting to resolve the issue by doing right by be being a honest respectable shop so We will take this issue as far as needed to get it resolved.Sincerely,*** ***
