First lets get this story straightyou called to have me install a drivers side front lower control arm because that what you only asked me to do, never asked me or told me to diagnose your problemyou went of an opinion of a body shop that you had taken your car too in the first place i
initially asked you if you wanted me to diagnose your problem personallyyou chose not toI'm really sorry that your part you had me fix did not fix the problem everything you have said about me and my business is completly falseI had customers, there that day that heard & seen what you asked for also you brought your friend or mom with you and knows that you never asked me to fix anything just to replace the part, also you were late that day you were suppose to show up at 9am and if you didn't show up I was gonna return the part that you told me to order over the phone a day before you came to me, you showed up at 1pm and I already returned the part because you never showed on time and then you said get my part back because I need it I said ok but it wont be done till the next day because it was to late in the day, I also called you when I was performing the wheel alignment & the wheel alignment machine (hunter elite alignment machine) indicated that your car needed more adjustments and this was going to cost extra due to more parts that was needed to align you car properly & you declined thatI did my part to try to help you I even squeezed you in to help you in giving you service I do take this matter serious its my business and I want to keep doing well I have been in business for over years my job is to help people with there cars which I do but I did do what you ask us to do

Took in 2000 Toyota Tacoma in for leaking head gasket. Had a diagnostics done else where and been told by few mechanics although not reading, it is most likely a leaking head gasket. Cost to check it out was a little over $200. J& W offered $85, great deal. Dropped off car Thursday, Dec 17, didn't hear back for quote, so I called him next day. He said good news, no leaking head gasket but bad news, need new fuel injectors, radiator and battery. I knew I needed and wanted a battery. He mentioned the trans fluid was really black. I said I know, just had it serviced. He said belts were bad too, but I just had those changed less than a year. But he offered everything, which included 3 fuel injectors @ a little over $800 but suggested I get all the fuel injectors done now to save money in the future at $1338 total. I had to borrow money but said do it and he said car would be ready Monday the 21st. Called in, nope not ready and needed more parts (shims) and price went up to $1388... he was okay with me making a payment for the $88 balance with collateral, as I only had $1300. The next day he calls me to tell me I need another part at an additional $250. I was very upset and said, no I need my car and that should have been disclosed when I paid for an inspection on the head gaskets. He said he couldn't let me drive out in that condition and didn't know it was bad till he got in. I don't get it, I thought he already opened up to provide me a quote. I asked for all my old parts as by now I am thinking something is fishy, he's had my car nearly a week and every time I call, price goes up. I said I didn't have the money then take out the belts and radiator. He said he couldn't do that as they were already installed. He took out the battery instead, which I had no idea till I got home! He said the new cost would be $1600 something dollars (without me ever agreeing to remove the battery). I call Wednesday the 23rd for my car and he said the shims weren't there yet. Christmas eve, he calls and says sorry, no shims delivered yet. Finally, my pickup was ready at closing on Monday, Dec 28th. He had me sign a receipt with just the total and what I owed. It was a little over $1400 to my surprise. Thought he felt bad for keeping my car so much and keep hiking up the price. He didn't go over the itemized receipt with me, as he was in a hurry to get to a family member in the hospital. He gave me a copy on his way out. I waited for him to give me my parts when I was told to go outside by a cousin of his, where someone else gave me a box and she took off. I was shocked to only see a few little trinkets (shims), not my belts or battery (didn't know he took that off yet, hence the cheaper over all cost). Before he left, he tells me, I am obliged to tell you that you probably have a leaking head gasket and shouldn't drive you car very much. I was livid! I said what, that is what I came in here for! He said yes but I didn't get a reading. I reminded him I was paying him to do the dirty work and check out the head gaskets, that was why I came in. If it would have cost to inspect the same as the dealership, I would have stuck with the dealership. He tells me don't worry, I can fix it for you for $2000! That is way more than what the dealership quoted me. Crying and scared. If car not working, I cannot work and pay back the loan. I am homeless, this is my home he ruined! So scared being on the streets.

I get home, look at the receipt and was mortified! He made changes I never approved and didn't include the necessary battery and didn't do all the work he quoted me for. Never pointed out that extra $250 part he had to put in.... nothing on the receipt for it. He serviced my transmission, I told him I'd never allow that to be flushed and I had that serviced already. He said I know but it was really bad and I had to do it, so I didn't charge you. But it was listed on the receipt as a charge. He put in cheap as belts, mine were better and he didn't show me where they were bad when I asked for the parts, he said he didn't have them and I never asked for them!? So beyond upset. I have no money left and no jobs coming... He stole from a homeless person. That is evil.

Review: I [redacted], contacted [redacted] at J&W Automotive in Modesto CA to fix a problem with my front left driver side tire, that was pushed back half an inch. [redacted] explained to me that he could fix the problem after I explaining it in detail to him. The fallowing day I took the car in and he told me he works on [redacted]s all the time and he could have this problem fixed. The next day I received a phone call from him, saying something was wrong with another part of my car. I told [redacted] that must have been from another accident I had a few months back, then he explained he already ordered the part and would fix it but it would cost more money. I told him not to do that because that issue should have been fixed when I took it to the other auto body shop before. Later that day I went in to pick up my vehicle and the problem was not resolved and the issue remained, it was the same as when I dropped it off. [redacted] said he did the alignment on the vehicle and did not provide the paperwork. I became very upset and asked him why he ordered a part and why did he replace a part that was not the problem, also why was the car still underivable? He started yelling at me saying I should have taken the car to a place that does that work, then I explained he should have sent me somewhere else but didn't. He still did the work knowing he could not fix the car and charged me 500 dollars. I told him I wanted the print outs to the car and the part, but he would not give me that information till I told him I would report him. Then I took the car to another location they told me he changed me for a part that didn't need fixing. They also said he should of sent me somewhere else and he changed me for nothing. I told him I was going to report him, then he said he knows people and to go ahead and do it. Now my car is still unable to drive and I paid 478.07 dollars for nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund of my money and get my car properly fixed.
