Review: To whom it may concern,I have booked and paid for 12 nights accomodation from [redacted] December - [redacted] Decemebr ...I paid $1849.49 on the [redacted] May, I have tried numerous times to contact the guesthouse to try to inform the owner of our impending arrival time....with no response, yesterday I have telephoned the guesthouse , the phone lines have been cut off...I have had no correspondance to any of my emails, so I am left wondering has the guesthouse gone into liquidation and is no longer open for business...I have looked on Trip advisor where I originally found the guest house, to find out all the reveiws have been removed...I have attempted to email trip advisor to try and find out the reasoning being this..I have also spoken with my Bank Account -[redacted] they have indicated if I'm to get any chance of a refund, I need to provide some type of proof that the company is no longer in business.Desired Settlement: I would like some type of confirmation that the business is still functioning...or if it is not in business, I want a full refund of monies I have paid up front for services I will not be receiving.I will need a refund as I will need to book alternative accomadation in New York.Hope someone can help in this matterKind regards[redacted]

Review: We made a reservation at Jane Darling House, received a confirmation from the owner, received a request to tell the owner when we would be arriving, even called to confirm just to be sure. When we arrived at the appointed time, there was nobody, no sign that the building was even inhabited and the phone was disconnected when I tried to call. I called a second number provided and left a message. Nobody ever called back. It was terrible to be stuck in the middle of Harlem looking for an absentee hotel owner from 10pm to 11pm. We had to make a last minute reservation, at considerable expense, and travel far, arriving after midnite, very tired from our travels.Desired Settlement: We had contracted and paid for 3 nights at $175 per night for a total if $555 with maid services of $30. The replacement hotel cost $800. We would like to be reimbursed for our time, and for our suffering and for the cost of transport. We would like to be reimbursed $1400. We had planned to arrive at 11:30 pm. Luckily or travel plans changed and we were not stuck in the middle of Harlem at 11:30 pm. It was a terrifying experience.

Review: My husband and I booked a stay at this Bed & Breakfast a few months ago. We paid in full, $530, for our reservation which was scheduled for August [redacted] - [redacted]. Less than 24 hours before our trip I received an email stating that they were unable to accommodate our stay due to a personal emergency and that they would refund me within 48 hours. We still have not received our refund. I have tried calling countless times and my emails have not been answered. Aside from the fact that this issue has not been resolved, the whole ordeal has been completely unprofessional. While there are many positive reviews for the Jane Darling House online, a few negative reviews have popped up since early August with the same complaint as mine. I am not the only person this has happened to.Desired Settlement: We would like to be refunded $530 promptly, as well as additional $190 due to the inconvienience placed on my husband and I. It has been 19 days from the time we were told we would receive our refund. It is fair that we receive a minimum of $10 per day that our refund, phone calls, and emails have been ignored.

Review: We have a reservation for 3 nights [redacted] October at Jane Darling House B & B. We have found that over the last month there have been complaints on trip advisor regarding reservations cancelled at the last minute with no refunds. We will be arriving from the UK and do not want to turn up to find that we have no where to stay.On researching the web we have found that the B & B was sold to American TV star Neil Patrick Harris on the very day that we made our reservation ** July 2013 see [redacted] I very much doubt that he will continue to operate the house as a B & B. Neil Patrick Harris has an obligation to honour bookings or return monies paid. Why has no one informed people who have bookings that their reservations have been cancelled or does he intend to still run the B & B. This situation would not be good for his reputation. The web site for Jane Darling is still taking bookings. the phone has been disconnected and emails not answered.Desired Settlement: Just want our money back and the website taken down so that others may not have the anxiety of being stranded in Harlem without anywhere to stay.
