The request for carpet removal was made and I hired [redacted] to do the removal of very old carpet. He accommodated my request and scheduled a time for a Saturday morning. I was asked to get services done quickly. I was told that the plan was the carpet would be removed and floors refinished. [redacted]...
removed the carpet, old pad, lightly scraped the remnants of padding and he removed the tack strips. He took all of property and disposed of the old materials. The remaining staples were from padding. I scheduled a floor refinishing company for the following Monday. I asked them to bid the floor refinishing and staple removal, as a part of the service they could offer, at a better price than one man on a Saturday. The home owners have decided to not proceed with further work. That decision results in the staples still being in the floor. I have offered to have it resolved, it would be at an additional charge. The complainant has refused to pay for the services rendered. It would cost more to do more work. Managing her expectation that this service provider would do what another was bidding to do-is unrealistic. I have paid the invoice to [redacted], in the amount of $156. I expect to be reimbursed for a service they received. I am happy to show them the invoice. I have respectfully asked to be paid before I provide them my paperwork. The entire invoice for my services and the carpet removal was $496.00. $340.00 has been paid. If Denise wants further services preformed, I believe it to be fair to pay for them. [redacted] charges by the job, not the minute to minute time spent on location. I explained this in an email. Different service providers charge differently. Some are hourly, some are by the job. This is a reality.
