To the Revdex.com in response to complaint ID [redacted] 1) Acknowledging Customers Concerns. As I told the client via phone when I first learned of this complaint (his wife) I was very sorry to hear that there was a problem and they were dissatisfied Even though it was two years since I did the job...I stand by my work and would have done everything in my power, at no charge to them, if they had just contacted me .2) Facts as I see them:I do not remember the conversation of two years ago as clearly as [redacted] ***I do have a picture of the chair when it left my shop and a copy of the invoice I do know that I never use thin batting or padding in my work Also, you cannot reupholster a piece without removing all, or most of the existing fabric in order to make patterns and re-fasten and install the new materialTo just cover over the existing piece is called a slipcover and is removable. The chair, as I remember it was not old (not new as it was purchased, I was told by client, for $in a shop.) It was in good shape structurally and I thought they got an excellent deal They purchased the fabric elsewhere and asked me to do the job.3) I have always tried to make my clients happy and will continue to do so.I would need to communicate with [redacted] Upholstery and determine the condition of the chair in their opinion, when it was brought to themI feel that this is important and a reasonable and fair request since it has been two years since I did the job and.....the client supplied their own fabric,

Regards,

I received your email pertaining to the complaint against me.  I am sending a response to you via this email because I could not find a place on the email that you sent to me for a response.
Georgia, serif;">My response is as follows:    I have been in business for many years and have never had a complaint of this kind.  One of the things I tell ALL of my customers is that if there is a problem of ANY kind,  they are to call me and I will fix it at absolutely NO CHARGE.    I put no limit to time.  I have had a few repairs over the years but nothing major.  Broken zippers things like that.  I remember this customer bringing their chair back for a minor problem that I fixed.  I cannot remember the details of the job I did however I do  remember them being very nice and I fixed the part that needed fixing and thought everything was ok.    If they had contacted me I would have done WHATEVER was needed to make them happy. However they never did and this letter from you was my first indication that there was a problem.   My reputation and customer relations mean very much to me, and so I say again, if they had just contacted me I would have tried in every way  to resolve the issue.    I have my copy of the original invoice and it does not have any mention of all the details that the customer mentioned but that does not mean that things were not discussed.  I just can't remember.  I also have a picture of the finished chair that I put in my album.   I would like to know who they took the chair to for the second re upholstery .  The customer is asking for a partial refund and so I feel I am entitled to more information.   Sincerely [redacted]

Review: I used [redacted] to reupholster a very old chair. I asked her to remove all the old material and stuffing and replace with new. When I received the chair I had to return it to her due to issues with the workmanship. She glued the material together and gave it back to me. It took about 8 months for the glue to give way. Being totally disgusted with the workmanship I took the chair to another upholsterer. When he disassembled the chair he found all the old fabric was still there with a very thin covering of batting on top.I paid MS Holstein over $400 dollars to complete the work and found that all she did was cover up what was there.Desired Settlement: I believe I deserve a refund of at least half of the money paid for the services rendered.

I do not think it is any of [redacted]'s business as to whom I took the chair too, but if it will aid in the closure of this dispute the chair was taken to Ward Upholstery Inc. in Dagsboro, DE. In response to [redacted] concern as to why we did not bring the chair back to her for repairs. We trusted her to do the job we asked the first time we brought the chair to her. She lied and deceived us, why would we return. It reminds me of an old saying. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
