Jarvis Pools & Spas Reviews (1)

We purchased a hot tub 5 months ago and continually are having problems. We would like our money back due to all the problems. We purchased out hot tub from Jarvis Pools 5 months ago. From the moment of start up there were issues, 1 pump not working, Ipod not working, lights not working. 5 months later we were able to get these items fixed, then we filled up the hot tub and a jet started to leak, this was fixed, and we filled up hot tub again and another jet started leaking and now one of the pumps is not working again. We feel there is something seriously wrong with this hot tub and we would like our money back, Even if these newest issues get fixed what will happen 6 months from now. A new hot tub should not have this many problems. From the beginning we had issues with Jarvis fixing the problems due to lack of knowledge etc. so we contacted the manufacturer who put us in contact with another dealer to fix this under warranty. But it continues to have issues and we feel there is no end to the problems. One thing gets fixed we fill it and find another problem. We fill the tub every time we think it is fixed, add in the chemicals only to drain it when we find another issue, So, we also lose the chemicals that we have purchased. I have asked Jarvis to return our money but he keeps saying it will get fixed. We are concerned that this hot tub will never be right. I again have asked for a refund and I am not getting any response from by email or phone.Desired SettlementWe just want out money back for the purchase of the hot tub and the accessories for this hot tub which include the cover holder along with the starter chemicals. For a total of $5388.05. This is what we originally paid to Jarvis Pools.Business Response In response to the complaint from [redacted] whopurchased a display spa that had miner damage, and sold ata redused price of $2000.00 with a 30 day warrantee fromour company. When the spa was installed they used it overone week end and it was fine, the next week [redacted] thencalled our store to complain about the turbo pump smoked, and one light wasn't colored and no sound came from thespeakers. We found the speaker was damaged by someone whenremoving the spa cover they broke the wire. We thenordered a new turbo pump and replaced it and sent her anew ipod box to replace the old one for music. All wasrunning fine at that time.In my conversation with [redacted] yesterday I explainedthat low voltage is the only explaination for a motor tosmoke. The wire to the spa is one they used for a smallerspa and when the heater and the pump come on the 5 hp.turbo doen't have enough electricity to start. For the 1st month we checked on the spa and the spa wasrunning and water was hot, and she was useing the spa. Wetold [redacted] to contact the manufacturer for any additional warrante. She did need additional care for thesame problems through another company. [redacted] calledour office and left a message of additonal issues with herspa and wanted us to winterize it so it would not freezewhich we did at no charge. We have been in business for over 55 years and try ourbest to work with all of our customers. This spa waspurchased from us with the understanding of a 30 daywarrantee only, we have gone beyond it's warrantee andhave attended to the same issues which accured because ofthe wireing in which they need to have addressed by anelectician to correct the problem for good. Sincerely,[redacted] C. JarvisConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)First of all we paid $4995.00 plus tax for the hot tub not $2000.00 as Mr. Jarvis stated. Yes there was minor damage to the cabinet, we were told a fork truck bumped it and made that dent but was assured that there was no other damage. We did not use the hot tub for a week and everything was fine. We noticed right away about the ipod and the lights, the 2nd time we used it is when the pump smoked. He states he went to our house and the spa was running fine. That is not true because they never fixed the ipod, we went through the mfg who sent another company out and they had to replace the speakers as they were not working, it wasn't the wire or the ipod box. Jarvis did replace the pump and it appeared to be ok at first. Because it was summer the hot tub did not get used much. So when recently we went to use it that is when the pump would not turn on.We have the correct voltage, amps and breakers for this hot tub, there is nothing in our manual that states any special wiring or anything of that nature. When we purchased the spa we asked Jarvis if there was anything specific and all he told us was the amps. He did offer to winterize our spa after I asked him what the plan was since the weather would be cold, he has yet to do so.
