Jason's Tree Service Reviews (7)

I've had Jason's Tree Service at my place twice; once in the fall to take down two trees leaning about 45 degrees to the house that no other tree service wanted to do. Their tree climbing expertise took care of these precarious trees. They also started my trail project and in the spring we resumed the project by removing more trees and brush. They also took down a few trees inside a fenced area that had tulips and daffodils there and I overheard one crew person say, "Watch out for the tulips". Not a one was harmed:) The three fellows from Jason's Tree Service both times here were diligent about their tree work and safety and had a fine work ethic and I could tell that they truly loved to work with trees. They also had suggestions for my brambled brush. They told me to call if I needed help in clearing the brush, but that's something I'm able to do.They will be continuing more ongoing needs of my "woods" to free up my healthy trees over the next few years.

We had Jason's Tree Service out earlier this spring to remove a dead tree from our yard as well as trim two trees that were hanging close to our home as well as causing pest problems. The team was professional and definitely experienced and managed to take down the tree and do the trimming in a much quicker amount of time than I had anticipated. The team also took the time to clean up and cut the wood into firewood size pieces for me to then keep and stack myself.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of tree removal/service.

[redacted] is an honest, reliable contractor. He did what he promised to do and at a fair price. He and his crew were courteous and did a great job cleaning up after a messy job. I highly recommend them and would hire them again.

Review: On July 29, 2013 Jason's Tree Service did a bid for trimming a maple tree in my back yard. The bid was done by [redacted]. I left a message with Jason's answering service I need to clarify the bid. Two days later [redacted] returned my call, we clarified I wanted two branches from the tree removed. Both branches were hanging over the electric and telephone service to my home. The wood from the branches would be chipped and I would keep the chips. Reduction in the price by $50, and a 5 1/2% deduction if I paid cash , a total of $350. Jason's tree service would call me the day before to let me know when they would be trimming the tree, I wanted to be home. approximately two weeks. [redacted] On [redacted] the [redacted] area was hit by tornados. The maple was damaged at that time. The ** crew removed the limbs that were in contact with the power lines. I move all the branches that were on the ground and cleared the area under the tree. [redacted] August 21, I called Jason's Tree service left message with the answering service, I need a date when the tree was going to be trimmed. [redacted] returned may call on. He was out of town and also had tree damage in the area of his shop, he had two crews going, I was all the way out in Holland town, but he would have [redacted] get with me , with a date possible the 22, or the 23. [redacted] called me back said he would stop on Thursday with a bid and should be there on Friday. Neither Jason or [redacted] called or showed up on Thursday. On Friday the 23 [redacted] left a new Bid in my mail box, I was home. "TRIM MAPLE FROM STORM DAMAGE AND BIG BRANCH OVER NEIGBORS." $600 PLUS TAX. [redacted] Saturday morning at 7AM I left a message with Jason's answering service. Asking why [redacted] had left another bid for more money than the bid of July 29. I need an answer by Monday the 26th at 9AM, or I would be contacting the Revdex.com.[redacted] I have not received a call from [redacted] or [redacted]The damage left on the maple tree is one branch that is wedged between the base and lower branches about 10 feet from the ground and the torn edges were the branches broke away from the tree at the time of the storm. The tree has less branches know than it did on July 29th. There is only one branch that needs to be removed (branch over the power line on the east side of tree) the other branch was removed by WE crew. It is less than 10 miles from Jason's shop to my driveway. This not an insurance claim.

heDesired Settlement: Jason's Tree Service do the work [redacted] had Bid on July 29, 2013. The work be done as soon as possible, at the agreed price of $350 cash. I had Jason's Tree Service trimmed the same tree, in 2012, I paid $500 cash. At that time he said, "the tree should be good for 4-5 years before in needs to be trimmed again". I also would like an apology, for the inconvenience he has caused me.

On July 29, 2013 Jason’s Tree Service did a bid for trimming a Maple tree in [redacted]’s backyard. She was quoted $350.00 to trim large branches over the neighbor’s garage and chip the brush. It is another $50.00 to take the wood. This is for a total of $400.00 before 5% tax is added. There is no reduction in price for paying in cash. There is only a $50.00 reduction in the price if we did not have to remove the wood. When the Tornado came through on August 7, 2013 it caused more of a mess. [redacted] called us to come out and re-bid the job. Unfortunately we were a bit late getting out to rebid the job because of all the emergency services we were performing in the area. [redacted] re-bid the job at an additional cost of $600.00 plus tax. The increase for this bid is because WE

Energies removed branches from the power lines but we hauled and chipped the branches they removed. WE Energies did not take the brush with them. We also cleaned up the limbs that she wanted trimmed that fell in the storm. The tree also had hangers (large unattached limbs that are wedged in the tree) that needed to be removed. The storm actually caused more work and clean

up than the original quote of having two branches trimmed.

[redacted] agreed to have us do the work after the second bid was done. If she didn't agree to the price she should have called to have the work done. We sent our crew out to do the job and instead of paying off of the invoice she chose to put $350.00 cash in an envelope and give it to the crew. The crew does is not aware of the billing procedures so they accepted the envelope and brought the money back to the office. The work was completed and [redacted] short paid her invoice by $280.00. She still has an outstanding balance of $280.00. The invoice total was $630.00 with tax included.

As of today the work has been completed and there is an outstanding balance on her account of $280.00.

We have worked with Jason's Tree Service in the past. Received good service and returned when we were not happy with the "Stump" removal. They removed several trees, seemed like a good value.

Recently, there was significant wind damage taking out several tree's, power lines etc.

We contacted Jason's tree service the same day the wind damage occurred.

At the end of the same week, Jason's tree service contacted us with an estimate of $500.

to remove a single tree that the wind had taken down 1/2 of it already.

Comparing the $500 to work performed earlier this year of of removing a maple and stump

for a cost of $200.

It appears that Jason's Tree Service is taking advantage of people affected by the serious storm damage to trees.

I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail shown while Jason's Tree Service was taking down two large trees on my property. They were extremely safe and clearly a skilled team. The very large tree in our backyard was in an extraordinary tight spot, watching this team disassemble the tree piece by piece was an impressive feat. The crew was kind and courteous as well. I would recommend this service to anyone.

Review: I hired Jason’s Tree Service to cut down 5 large trees and remove all wood. When I got the estimate I wanted to make sure they would do an excellent job cleaning up since most of the trees would be dropped in my neighbor’s yard (which I got permission). In December they started the job and finished in the middle of January. Although it took multiple phone calls to get a date for them to show up in January to finish the work. I was told someone would let me know in a couple days and then I would have to call after not hearing anything for a week. They promised they would return in the Spring to finish cleaning up since there was a lot of debris buried in snow (I would estimate more than a large pickup truck worth of debris and branches). They never returned to clean up, I even called in April and the owner did not return my phone calls. His secretary said he would be out to do it, but he never showed up. There was a very significant mess in my neighbor’s yard that was an area of over half of a football field. There were branches in there that were over 2 inches in diameter. I called him a week after the completion of the job as there were a lot of branches they had left that I piled up. He came out and picked up half of them and took the other half and dumped them in a couple places on my neighbor’s property. So I had to go over and pick these branches up off of my neighbor’s property. This has to be the most unprofessional act I have ever seen from a business owner. Also he damaged a portion of siding on my garage when he tried to drag a tree up a hill. The forks came off of his skid steer and smashed into the garage. This resulted in damaging the siding, denting some trim, and making large gouges in some large pavers. I saw him do this not once but three times. I went out there and at no point did he come and apologize and say he would take care of it. I finally said something and he said he would fix the siding. I ended up fixing it myself. I spent over 30 hours cleaning up the debris that was all over my yard and the neighbors’ yards. (I understand they could clean up much faster than myself). They had also assured me that any trees that were damaged would be trimmed up properly which was not done either. I had a couple small trees that were even cut half way through and left like that. When they were here in December his skid steer broke down and he made numerous comments that he wasn’t going to make any money because all the money would go to repairs. This to me is extremely unprofessional. Repairs are a part of running a business. I paid him to do a complete job and he left me with all the mess. I feel like I should be reimbursed for all of my time cleaning up and deserve an apology for his behavior.Desired Settlement: Reimburse me for my time spent cleaning up the mess and a written apology for his behavior.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about our company and work we have completed. We appreciate customers that take the time to help improve our business. I am sorry to hear of your recent dissatisfaction with Jason's Tree Service, LLC.

We did start a job at the customer’s location in December and finished it in Mid January. The job took longer than normal because of the many snow storms and difficult weather we had over the winter. Although our workers do work in inclement weather we do not make them work in below zero or snow storms. We said we would have to return in spring and clean up some branches that were buried by the snow. The snow hung on for several weeks and we even had accumulation in the beginning of April. The owner stopped at the customer’s house on April 5, 2014 to see what was under the melted snow so he could schedule clean up accordingly. The job was to finish cleaning up the branches that were under the snow from the trees that were taken down. When the owner arrived at the customer’s house he noticed the customer had cleaned up his entire woods floor and assumed we were going to take care of all the debris. We only clean up the branches from the trees we take down. We do not go around and clean up yards and woods unless it is specified. Unfortunately the extra clean up would come at an extra charge. He did not dump branches on the neighbor’s property. That is not something a business professional does.

There was some damage to the garage from the skid steer and slippery conditions. We agreed to fix the damage. We sent our siding professional out to fix the damage 5 days later and the customer already had the repaired the garage. Unfortunately it took a few days to get a professional out there for insurance claims purposes. The customer made the decision to fix the damage on their own so we canceled any insurance claims.

We were more than happy to come out and clean up his woods so he wouldn’t have to do the work but this would be at an additional charge. The customer took it upon himself and cleaned up his woods. Unfortunately there will be an extra charge to come out and chip the brush that was raked up from the extra spring cleaing of the woods floor. Knowing the customers is on disability and has limitations we were more than happy to help do the work but services provided are not free.

Jason’s Tree Service, LLC does apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have had. We do not like to have unsatisfied customers. We will also come give an estimate to chip

the extra brush they worked so hard to clean up off of their woods floor. We do not pay wages to non employees so the amount of $250.00 that was figured for the time cleaning up their woods will not be paid out to the customer. A Jason’s Tree Service employee would have had to do the work to be paid for hours spent cleaning.
