I brought a dress to this company to be altered prior to an upcoming wedding. Full disclosure, I am pregnant and the dress is a formal maternity dress. The dress just needed to be taken in around the rib cage on the sides just under my armpits. The young girl who works the desk most of the time was the one to pin it for me and when pinned it felt like the correct position. If anything, it still felt a little big. I was told it would take about a week and that I would get a call when it was completed. A week and a half passed and I did not receive a phone call and therefore went in to see if it was done. It was completed and I picked it up, payed $40 for the alterations (and dryclean) and took it straight home and tried it on. It had been altered and taken in so much I could not put the dress on fully or zipper it up fully. It was too tight around the rib cage where it had been altered. It was now unwearable. I am not a very big person to begin with, however I did not gain weight in a week and a half around my rib cage. I took it straight back to this business (it's a 5 min. walk from my house) and told the girl that it was taken in too far. I also tried it on there for her to show her the problem in which she acknowledged that I could not fully zip the dress up. The girl at the desk said she didn't know if it could be fixed and would need to speak with her manager who would be in on Monday (this was a Saturday) and that she'd call me Monday with her response. Monday came and I did not hear from her, so I called at 4:30 PM and requested to speak with the manager who was not there again. However, I was told by the young girl that she had spoken with her and the dress could not be fixed. She could not offer me a reason for this or any other information. I stated I could not wear the dress at all now and requested that my money be refunded since the dress was unwearable. She stated I would have to speak with the manager who would be in the next day.

I went into the business first thing the next morning and the manager was there. I requested that my money be refunded since their alterations resulted in the dress not being able to be worn and they were unable to repair. The manager stated she would not refund my money, that the dress was altered right where it was pinned. I stated that the pinning of the dress was done by them directly and seemed correct by it fitting comfortably at the time of pinning and now I cannot put the dress on. The manager refused to refund my money and stated she would have the owner call me, who I never heard from. She would also not give me any information on the owner or when she would be in the store so that I could speak with him/her regarding the matter. Both the young girl manning the desk and the manager were completely unsympathetic about the situation and did not seem the least bit interested in providing any kind of decent customer service. No attempt was even made to help right the situation.
