Review: I went to JB Realty to use their broker services in helping me find an apartment. The brokers, [redacted] and [redacted], helped me find an apartment that I had scheduled to move by the [redacted] of September. After showing me two apartments on August [redacted], the first being a total disaster, the second being the perfect place, I decided to leave a deposit of the first months rent of $1500 that same day. The moment I had given them my deposit, not anytime before, they tell me that they would be closed the following week. The week passes, I call Monday, their answering machine tells me they won't open until the following Tuesday. Tuesday finally comes along and we call them to follow up that they had received our work information in their fax; that goes through. I inform them that my credit is great but my partner's credit is poor so we will need to sign guarantor paper work, they agree and send me home with more paperwork. The guarantor information gets back to JB Realty by Thursday and I call them immediately to confirm this. [redacted] gets on the phone and tells me that this paperwork will take 4-5 days to process. Today, Tuesday, September [redacted], we have now called them about three times today and at last respond that we have been denied. My partner and I, combined, make $70,000, about 5x more than what they ask for per month for this apartment. Guarantor paperwork has never been denied on the basis of credit. Showing us an apartment that was perfect was just their way of taking our money and performing so-called credit checks that they claim to make on our guarantors and yet have not yet found us an apartment. In conclusion, we have been baited with a nice apartment that was only too good to be true.Desired Settlement: If JB Realty finds us an apartment of equivalence, we will not pay the broker fee, for having caused our delayed move that has caused us to move our belongings into storage as well as having to move twice on top of rental fees, and being homeless for the days that JB Realty has not found us a home.
