We hired this company to complete a previous remodel We had a detailed contract and the project was supposed to take approximately or so weeks because he had a new house to start work on at the end of July; we started in June The total cost of the project was just over 60K We agreed to make a total of three payments every to weeks, with the final payment due upon completion Most of the work was NOT done (i.e.front deck, interior and exterior trim completion, new roof and rain gutters, interior decorative glass installation, new cellar door hatch) After repeated requests to have him come and complete the work, or if he was too busy (since he had started on the new house), return our money, we eventually fired him He kept promising to come by the house in a week or two, on more than one occasion He didn't come by and he didn't call We have no complaints with the little bit of work he did do The problem is, he didn't do much of the work stated in the contract and refused to return our money (we gave him nearly $41K and paid for nearly all the supplies that he used for the work he did do) We are now contacting an attorney to try and get our money back
