My husband went to purchase a cadillac. He already knew what his credit score was. He asked for his credit not to be ran more than twice. My husband purchased a Cadillac back in April. He already knew what his credit score was which was a 755. He asked [redacted] not to run his credit more than twice. After purchasing the vehicle he got an [redacted] alert that Cadillac had indeed run it 7 times. He lost 30 points!! [redacted] ([redacted] said that he did it to get the best deal without informing my husband. My husband would have paid cash for the car if he knew it would be that much of an issue.Desired SettlementA letter for [redacted] to get my husband's points back.Business Response Revdex.com My name is [redacted] I'm the sales manger at [redacted] Cadillac. I'm responding to Case # XXXXXXXX concerning [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] came in shopping for a Cadillac and after talking with my friend, [redacted], trying one of our lenders, and involving our finance manager, they could not get a loan worked out that Mr. [redacted] was satisfied with. So I talked to Mr. [redacted], thanked him for shopping with us, and explained that I believed we could help him do what he wanted to do if we tried. Which would involve finding a lender that would make the loan in such a way that Mr. [redacted] would be comfortable with it. After explaining that we need to find a better loan term, and try a few more lenders, Mr. [redacted] agreed, and we managed to find a lender that would make the loan in such a way that Mr. [redacted] was happy with it. So that's what we did and Mr. [redacted] went home happy. I was very surprised that Mr.[redacted] was upset that we had tried a few more lenders after he and I had talked about it and agreed to do it. It's always disappointing to have any sort of misunderstanding with a customer. From my standpoint I appreciate Mr. [redacted] giving us an opportunity to serve him and I'm very thankful to him for choosing to do business with us. I'm sorry that Mr. [redacted] got upset. I noticed that the complaint you mailed to me was from his wife. To my knowledge she was not here the day Mr. [redacted] bought his car and I never had an opportunity to meet her. I wish Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] well and hope they are enjoying the car Mr. [redacted] bought from us. I would have responded sooner to the complaint, but I did not see the first two that you said you sent. The first time I became aware there was a Revdex.com complaint was 06/06/2016 around 3:00 PM. My husband specifically asked for his credit not to be run more than twice. If he had known they were going to run it that many times he would have simply paid cash for the car or not purchase it. We bought the vehicle while under a brief remaining warranty, with a sizable down payment. A couple of days after we purchased the vehicle the car stalled out and the check engine light came on. Since the vehicle was still under warranty we took the car to [redacted] for diagnosis and service. [redacted] did serveral services to the car as listed above and turned off the check engine light. We thought that had solved the problem. Just recently the same thing happened again with less than 4000 additional miles put on the car. The car stalled out and the check engine light came on again. We went back to JC Harris Cadillac, INC and [redacted] but neither would do anything as the warranty had now run out. I believe that JC Harris knew there were issues with the car since the light came on so soon after leaving he dealership. If [redacted] has chosen to repair the car after the warranty period, that would have been their decision. The remainder of the factory warranty was with [redacted] and not J.C. Harris Cadillac Inc.Also, J.C. Harris Cadillac Inc. would have no way of knowing at what point a check engine light would come on on the car. However, since Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] purchased the automobile from J.C. Harris Cadillac Inc., we might would consider participating in the bill under the Customer Goodwill Consideration.Consumer Response The bill was $210. What part are they willing to pay? When I talked to the contact person. He said he was waiting to hear from you at the Revdex.com. Final Business Response willing to pay half which would be 105, I don't see that it was any fault of JCHARRIS CADILLAC in this matter, it was taken to the [redacted] store under the [redacted] warranty, the consumer was offered an extended warranty with the remainder of the factory warranty but that was turned down by the consumer, we always recommend an extended warranty when purchasing a used vehicle, and I feel this would have came up sooner then it did if they truly thought we were at fault with anything, thank you [redacted] GENERAL MANAGER JCHARRIS CADILLAC, IN PAYING THIS, IT RELEASES ANY LIABILITY TO JCHARRIS CADILLAC IN THE FUTURE WITH THIS TRANSACTIONBusiness Response already responded if the consumer would come by we will issue a check for the amount we responded to, thanks [redacted] GENERAL MANAGER JCHARRIS CADILLAC
