Client contacted The Pool Guy in late April/Early May to schedule a kayak pool liner installation The first available date of May 31st was accepted by the clientThe client made the necessary arrangements with her employer to be home and made all the necessary parts purchases including new coping so everything was ready for 5/ The client assumed the coping was included with install but called The Pool Guy on 5/to inform and also confirm that coping install was included The Pool Guy representative, Kelly, called back on 5/and left a voicemail confirmed the coping was included (voicemail message stating coping is included is available to play for all interested parties)Installation daythe crew shows up at 8:am I was immediately informed that coping was not included and that it was an additional $charge When I explained that I called and was told it was included there was basically no response I told them to proceed at an additional cost to me of $as

I would give a negative star if that was possibleBuyers beware!!! I will start by saying my pool was "installed in May I wish I had looked into CRathman, Inc"The Pool Guy" before I wasted so much money First he was being paid extra to take down the old pool which had sprung a hole and was half down already My husband had hired them so when he couldn't be there I was surprised to find the $we were charged for take down only involved them throwing all the pieces in a big pile in my yard I could have done that for free I expected them to take the pieces out to the street where they would have been picked up the next day Then they come tell me that my foot round pool will not fit where they just took down a foot round pool They wanted to cut a big piece out of my deck So I took pictures and sent them to my husband and he said ok after talking to Chris When they were done which didn't take long I gave the guys a nice tip and they left with the pool filling up When my husband got home he said where they cut the deck the pool was now not fitting as well as it did before I waited for the pool to fill and warm up and then when I went in I noticed sharp points in the bottom of the pool under the liner I found several places where they had left sharp rocks under my pool.!!! We called the office and they tried to say they wouldn't have done that, but after we insisted they said if we drained the pool they would come back and "Fix" the liner The problem is that is a lot of water and we would have had to pay the over $for the water again "The pool guy" had no way of saving all that water and he refused to pay for it We were going to do it at the end of the season, but decided we didn't want to waste all of that water and then pay for it again We closed the pool and waited until next year to see what happen During the summer of we had a leak in the liner where one of the rocks was We called Chris and told him we wanted him to repair the liner or refund money for the shoddy job He was unwilling to do anything and we had several conversations about this Finally we had an illness in the family so we patched and covered the pool and left it for the winter Then this summer 2018, we went to uncover the pool and found that several feet of the liner has pulled away from the side, several pieces of the top that are supposed to keep the liner in place were not put in properly and had cracked!! We didn't even bother calling Chris this time The pool is useless several visitors were very upset to find out our NEW (years old) pool was useless We have thousands of dollars wrapped up in this and at this point we are ready to just throw the whole thing away I would recommend any one installing, repairing, or even taking down a poll stay away from this guy and any company he is involved with My husband also talked to someone else at his work that used this company and they have the same problem the liner is pulled away from the side of the pool after only yearsThis is a nightmare that makes me sorry I didn't just trash the old pool and leave it at that

Had a new pool 18' installed in May to replace an old pool 18' Our family removed the old pool The company finished the job within 1/hours Totally rushed through the job They never raked the sand to level it They are rocks or bolts under the liner There are folds and wrinkles in the liner They placed the filter in a spot that barley allows room for the hoses Terrible job! We paid the same amount as the new pool install that includes removing grass and providing new sand! Pool stores SHOULD not be giving out the information for this company

What a nightmare! Buyers beware We decide to replace our year old above ground pool this year We purchased an exact replacement (same size/wall height/# of uprights etc) for ease of installation...basically it should drop right in the same
place where our old one was We carefully removed the old pool just a few days before the new installation and exposed the concrete blocks where the new pool uprights would rest
This installer was recommended by the pool store (*** *** *** ***) I first spoke to Kelly at "the pool guy" in mid-May to set up an install date She told me that they schedule installs by area and that they had other jobs in my area but the install wouldn't be until the middle of June No problem, we were in no rush Kelly and I discussed that our existing pool had a dish-out in the center and that the new pool was an exact match for replacement She told me that there should be no need for any site excavation and that since they already had three other jobs scheduled for the same day in the area, there would be no travel charge
So, they gave us a June install date and we received a call the night before telling us they were going to be doing the install the next day My wife took the day off from work because we were told that someone needed to be there
On the morning of the install, my wife calls me at work that the installers had arrived and that there was a bobcat excavating our pool site Before she could even get outside, they had started digging What a mess …dirt pushed everywhere, ruts in my
yard from the bobcat, sod all torn up and our nice dish in the center was gone… and all of it unnecessary I wish I could post pictures here
The dig crew left and said the install crew would be in shortly…no one showed up the rest of the day I called the office and left a message that was returned by the owner Chris later that evening He told me that he was the one who did the excavating because my site wasn’t level…Funny thing since my other pool had been there years with no problems He also said he spoke to my wife and told her that the install crew would be there in a few days – no he didn’t I told Chris that I would have to get back to him based on our work schedules with some days that someone could be on site since my wife had already taken a day off for the install and it didn’t happen He was fine with that The next afternoon at 3pm, I get a call on my cell phone at work from the install crew They are at my house and want to know where the pool is Talk
about lack of communication I had to leave work early so they could do the install
I showed the install crew pictures of the site before the excavation and their lead man Aaron, who agreed that the site didn’t need to be excavated The crew (lead and two younger helpers) went about installing the pool over the next couple of hours… lead man was on his phone half the time and chain-smoking the other half One of the younger men seemed to have some anger issues going on as things were slammed and hammered if they didn’t go in place easilyIn any case, they slapped the pool together in about two hours and drained my well dry trying to fill itNo one told us we
needed gallons of water at the time of install …even if they had, the water truck would have been there the day before when they were supposed to do the install We had water delivered that night so they could come back and cut the skimmer
in They didn’t end up coming back for four days The install itself showed that the crew really didn’t care about what they were doing … scratches and dings and dents that they caused Uprights installed on new cement blocks, but hanging half off (once again, I wish I could post pictures) I would think that this would compromise the stability of the pool, but the owner Chris said it would be fine… we’ll see
We had an existing deck which I was also told would be no problem …and it wasn’t – for them They put up the new pool and left almost a one foot gap between the deck and the top rail of the pool Major hazard for everyone using the pool and deck… and more expense and time having to extend the deck so someone doesn’t get hurt Lastly, the installer must have forgot to pack the sand under the liner or didn’t smooth out his own foot prints Lots of foot prints everywhere when you walk around inside the pool Great places for dirt to collect and very difficult to vacuum out
Overall, just a bad experience I was charged quite a bit extra for excavation (that wasn’t needed) and for ‘travel’ …As I’m writing this, I’m thinking he probably charged the other jobs that he did that day the same travel fee (collected travel fees for sending one crew to the area) The office is impossible to get in touch with as you have to leave a message and be called back which may take several days This company is all about speed ...more pools being set up puts more money in his pocket He doesn't care about his customers and HE is ALWAYS right about anything you question or disagree with
Hopefully anyone using ‘The Pool Guy’ can learn from my mistakes Make sure everything you want is put in writing or in an email, because what they promise will probably not happen

The pool guys installed a new pool that we purchased from *** *** the end of May This 24' pool replaced an existing 21' pool that we had for years We were told installation would be between 1-3, no one showed up so we began calling and that should have been our indication to go somewhere else (*** *** recommends the Pool Guy too) Finally around 4:I received a call that they were running behind and someone would be at our home shortly Around 6:guys showed up with a bob cat and a load of sand and after digging out the backyard and complaining constantly said they would be back first thing in the morning to install the pool Crew arrived close to 11am the next morning (again after numerous calls to check on status went unanswered and not returned (funny though calls were returned quickly to schedule installation) The center drain was installed with the rest of the pool We were told installation would be 795$ and extra if they had to dig more, funny how my bill

Over the years or so, my family and I have had the worst luck with pools This particular pool that I purchased from a local store, would be our 3rd pool in years I even bought a better model with a better warranty Since we have had issues in the past, I decided to also try a different installer that the pool store recommended I called the pool guy approximately SeptOctof to set an appointment for May of They were very prompt in there response and assured me they would contact me again in early spring to set a definite date Spring arrived and I did receive a call from the pool guy to schedule my installation I believe the women's name who I dealt with was Donna, though I'm not 100% sure She was very friendly and accommodating and promised that if the day I chose did work out , that she would work to fit me into another spot that would work for me I also explained to her my history of bad luck with pools and how I would hope this installation com

This company installed an above ground pool for us on 5/26/ They installed a new 18' pool where an existing 18' pool was After installation, my husband asked if the crew raked the sand and they stated they raked it real good Installation took approximately hour minutes As we used our pool starting in July, we noticed that there were many stones under the liner (approximately dozen or so) throughout the pool Also where the bottom meets the side, we noticed it was very bumpy and mushy We thought that with the use of the pool, these issues may be resolved with the pressure of the water By the end of July, it was evident that the problems did not improve We contacted *** ***, where we purchased the pool regarding our concerns and told them how we were dissatisfied with the Pool Guy's work *** from the Tonawanda *** *** insisted the Pool Guy was the best and they would fix the problems I contacted the Pool Guy and left messages about our concerns over
