Vehicle was purchased AS/IS No Warranty from JEFF CITY MOTORS Customer opted to purchase a Service Contract thru CARS in which apparently absorbed the majority of the cost of the transmission replacement We are not obligated to pay or repair any item on a vehicle sold AS\IS and NO Warranty At the time of sale and test drive when customer drove vehicle transmission was fine and operated as should With anything man made things can happen We are certainly glad she purchased the Service contract which in turn covered it sounds like majority of the repair While it is none of our concern where vehicle was taken for repair - taking a Honda to a HONDA Dealer for transmission repair or replacement to us is very overkill Most would take a vehicle to a Regular Transmission Repair Shop or Facility and we feel the cost could have been a fraction of what it was by the dealer To us spending nearly $5,on a vehicle that was $to purchase is just out of reach Customer did not research or use good judgement in the repair facility chosen resulting in these high charges

Warranty.   At the time of sale and test drive when customer drove vehicle transmission was fine and operated as should.  With anything man made things can happen.  We are certainly glad she purchased the Service contract which in turn covered it sounds like majority of the repair.   While it is none of our concern where vehicle was taken for repair - taking a 2002 Honda to a HONDA Dealer for transmission repair or replacement to us is very overkill.   Most would take a vehicle to a Regular Transmission Repair Shop or Facility and we feel the cost could have been a fraction of what it was by the dealer.  To us spending nearly $5,000 on a vehicle that was $3450 to purchase is just out of reach.   Customer did not research or use good judgement in the repair facility chosen resulting in these high charges.

Please respond to us via "[redacted]@jeffcitymotors.com" or through the Revdex.com.   Please get a accurate diagnosis of the problem you are having and exactly what needs to be done, and we will reach a fair settlement for both parties.    Please let us know once your diagnosis...

has been done -- and a for sure method of repair and exact cost.    We will then see if we can do the 50/50% or not based on your diagnosis / firm repair bill. We are sorry you have encountered this issue - and offer the Extended Service Contracts at the time of sale for this reason.   We will attempt to make a exception to our policy in this instance to satisfy you.   We do not intend for these things to happen, and hope you understand that.   If it were something we knew of prior to sale - we would have addressed it and took care of it.   Apparently until over a hundred miles was placed on the car - this issue did not show. Please let us know with the above as soon as you know so we can make a decision.JEFF CITY MOTORS

I would like to respond to his statement. A slanderous statement would mean that what I am saying is false or malicious. Nothing I have said is false. I called at 9 am and asked politely to speak with the owner. I was told that he wouldn't be in until 1. Called back at 4 and was told by...

the poor salesman that the owner wouldn't do anything to help. Called again at 5 and asked to speak to him and he wouldn't get onto the phone because he had nothing to say to me, I could hear him in the back ground. I emailed him and he tried to say that this was the first he had heard of it which was a complete and total lie. I did use profanity ( one word) in the email I sent to him because I am upset with the way he is treating me as a customer. I just handed his company $4400 for a car that I was assured was in great conditional and had been recently checked out by a third party mechanic and it didn't even make it out of town before the problems started.

This vehicle was purchased AS/IS with No Warranty Express or Implied.    This was signed on documents multiple times by customer at the time of purchase, and was told it was sold AS/IS with no warranty.  Additionally - a  "EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT" was offered and "DECLINED"...

which the customer signed.   This EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT provided by CARS or ASC could and would have helped protected in any sort of "ENGINE failure" as they are POWER TRAIN service agreements.   We had NO knowledge of any Motor Trouble.  Furthermore the car ran nearly 3 months and several thousand miles before any "ENGINE FAILURE".   We do not hold a crystal ball - and CAN NOT predict the future with any USED Motor Vehicle.  We offer them at a FAIR PRICE.   And Offer them all STATE SAFETY INSPECTED as required by law.  This is the "INSPECTION by INDEPENDENT MECHANIC" that are referring too.  Every vehicle is "STATE SAFETY INSPECTED" before offered for sale.   No one can predict down the road "ENGINE FAILURE".   The car ran and drove fine at the time it was sold.   If a extended service contract was purchased - they could have had some independent protection on this vehicle purchased.    Regrettably things do break and can fail in anything NEW or USED.   Our hands are tied in this issue.   We do not wish any trouble upon anyone.   However that is why we offer the EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACTS and POWER TRAIN PROTECTION through INDEPENDENT SOURCES so when a issue does arise, hopefully they have purchased protection.   We purchase the vehicles with no warranty - and can not provide a warranty when we sell the vehicles being why we offer the Independent protection and peace of mind for customers if they CHOOSE to purchase.   In this case it was "DECLINED" and a waiver was signed by this customer stating they were offered and DECLINED to purchase.
