On Oct. 15, 2014 my Mother had the service Jem Air conditioning & more, out of Miramar, Florida to her home for duct work cleaning, and basic dryer vent cleaning.. A new filter (we may or may not receive) and a free 21 point A/C check up. Her unit was installed May 2013. By the time the technician was finished, she was told her Freon was down 31/2 pounds at 65.00 per pound, she had white mold with a suggestion of a organic spray to eradicate the mold at 275.00. There was leaking at the air handler in the attic and he could spray a "stop leak" product at around another 275.00. I reside with my Mother as her caregiver since she has dementia and began to really freak out myself at the problems and costs involved as quoted and responded. "I appreciate being made aware of there issues, but would need to have a dialogue with the original installer as this was so new and could not understand there being so many issues". The tech ([redacted]) tried some more, but that was it for me without checking. I called the company who installed the new unit and they sent out their technician within an hour and totally, completely stated that not one of those statements from Jem Air Conditioning & More were true! He apologized for this type of business "strong arm" mentality, as it gave them all a bad name, but be assured us that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Freon, no sign of mold, leaking was old and from the prior unit, not one problem as stated at all!! In fairness I tried calling the company requesting a conversation with a supervisor and received no return phone call, tried again the next day and was told I would receive a call in the next few minutes...again nothing and 3rd time spoke with [redacted], who basically admitted nothing and ended with the comment "Since you did not buy any of these services what was/is the problem"?? Really stunned at this point, commented that I see how this works now and that this time, they made a mistake and I would pursue this at every level could. I consider this elder abuse and in Naples, FL this is the majority of residents. Do not use this company.

In Nov.25, 2014 (Tuesday before Thanksgiving) I called to Jem Air conditioning & more, out of Miramar, Florida and they quoted me a supposed especial price of $79.00 to make a cleanup to whole air conditioning ducts of my house, I agreed but unfortunately I wasnât at home to check his job due to my work activities (My wife was there), when the supposed technician get to my home and inspected the job to be performed, he called and told me that there were a lot of dust, germs and mold into the system that need to be removed due to health issues, he told me that the system also will need an air conditioning ducts treatment with a sanitizer, he quoted me all the job for $270.00, I agreed and asked him to perform a good cleanup to the all system and he told me that he will do an âIntensive duct cleaningâ , after he smoked a cigarette and spend time in purpose, he took a vacuum and placed it over just a single vent and went to the other vents, one by one with another smaller vacuum; faking to vacuum them, he only spent 20 minutes on that operation and after that he sprayed just for a few seconds a supposed sanitizer into the system, then he called me and told me that all the job was done and asked me to make the payment, I ask my wife to make him a check trusting on him and that all the job really was done. When I get home, I removed one of the vents and all the dust felt down over my face, I immediately call that supposed technician and claimed him about what happened and ask him to do not cash that check until he redo that job or return me my the check, of course he cashed the check and fooled me.... I call to his supervisor and of course I argued with him also, he promised me that he will send that supposed tech on Friday after Thanksgiving at 2:00 p.m. That day at 1:30 p.m. I called them in order to confirm the appointment and they told me brazenly that they do not have any technician to be sent to my house to redo that job and they will send somebody on Monday, of course it was another heavy argued...
Monday morning I went to their office at [redacted] XXXXX and they promised me that they will send another technician in the afternoon, he went and after inspect suspiciously all around my house, he call me and told me that the job was done by the previous tech and he do not have anything else to do and if I want a better clean up to my air conditioning ducts, it will cost me a lot more money... I called to their office and it was one more argue... the very first supposed tech called me and it was one more dispute... At the end they stole all my money shamelessly and all the dust is into my air conditioning system.
I wonder to know if there is not an authority to penalize that kind of scammers in order to they do not continue cheating the people???

I wish I had red reviews before trying to use Jem Air. I was looking for a company to clean my dryer vent going to the outside of my house. I looked in the Clipper Magazine and called the 1 st advertisement that would be able to do it. They quoted me a price but could not come out on Friday. So, I called the 2 nd one and that was Jem Air they quoted me a slightly higher price but after [redacted] talked to a manager he said they would match the price I was quoted and could come out between 8-11 on Friday. Once they got here and the person saw it was an outside vent (which was discussed even how he would need a snake to clean it) he said if I wanted it done it would be 3x the price. We called [redacted] and he admitted quoting me a price but said he said it started at that price why would you say that if you were matching a price? He said a supervisor would get back to e but no one ever did. This is the definition of bait and switch I will make sure everyone knows my story and makes me believe how other reviews call the a scam artist.
