Review: I am in contract with JLC Construction to build a patio cover at my house. I signed the contract on 6/29/15 and JLC signed on 7/14/15. They started work on my patio cover on October 2015. Work halted as JLC worked on getting a permit (which was included in the contract as being their responsibility) from the city of Elk Grove. My patio cover is therefore half done, with no roof or electrical. To this day (today is 6/14/2016), JLC has not yet obtained a permit from the city of Elk Grove. JLC applied for a permit from the city in December 2015 (application number [redacted]) but it was rejected due to missing information. They have not resubmitted the permit application since then. On 4/22/16, [redacted] (owner of JLC) informed me that they had everything that the city needed and would be resubmitting the permit application the following week. This did not happen as promised and subsequent follow up phone calls to [redacted] yielded more promises to turn in the permit application, with no follow through. As of mid May (2016), all my calls, emails or text messages to the owner ([redacted]) have been ignored. I have fulfilled my side of the contract, but JLC has done nothing but issue broken promises to complete the job.Desired Settlement: I would like JLC Construction to obtain the required permit from the city of Elk Grove and complete the job per contract within the next month. That will make a whole year since they signed the contract to do this job.
