Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[The range given was $500 to $600. The bill was $1048. Nowhere near the "range" I was told. They didn't do what they told me they would, and didn't bill be anywhere near their own range of what it would cost. There is no other word than deceptive. This scenario is the essence of what I hope the Revdex.com stands for. I big company taking advantage of a homeowner and staring me down to see if I have the funds to hire an attorney.]

[Debelak's response lacks any level of credibility and contains blatant lies. After I spoke with them and voiced displeasure I never received a call from them on either my business or cell phones that day. If their intent was not to match what was previously in the shower why did they take the old slide bar? Why did they charge me over $1000 when they told me it would cost between $500 and $600? As for their claim to have provided quality parts and labor, I never took issue with the quality of the parts of labor. I took exception with their deceptive practices. They got in my house and provided me with a lesser service than what we had agreed to. Why else would he admit that the situation was unfortunate. The part did not fit.  Then to add insult to injury they charged me double the estimated cost.]
Regards,
[redacted]

As previously stated, I tried to call Mr. [redacted] immediately after he hung up mid conversation. The call went directly to voice mail, I did not leave a message. Also previously stated, we matched the product as close as possible. Mr. [redacted]'s dad gave the go ahead to continue, once the problem was recognized. Mr. [redacted] did not get a quote for the work, we do not quote service work. He was given an anticipated cost range, not a quote. There was no deception, we only do service work on a time and material basis. You pay for the time and the materials used. That is how he was billed and how we expect to be paid.

Mr. [redacted] contacted us to install the materials as he described. We purchased as close to exact replacements as is possible. It is unfortunate that the exact slide bar is not available. We matched it as close as possible. Mr. [redacted]s dad(Mr. [redacted] was not there) was told there was an issue...

before the slide bar was installed. He said to proceed. All things considered, the project went well, other than one hole that was not concealed by the slide bar flange/escutcheon. Mr. [redacted] was never promised that all holes would be covered, we did the best we could with the products available. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] after the project was complete, he expressed his displeasure, I agreed that it was unfortunate and then he hung up mid conversation and turned off his phone so he could not be contacted. We will not accept his proposal to pay for parts only. We provided quality parts and labor and expect to be compensated for both. Sincerely,

Review: Contractor was to replace bathtub drain, overflow cover, spicket, handle to turn on water, slide bar for shower head, shower head, hose for shower head, stem from the wall and cover plate for the stem. The bathtub and surround is one piece and is made from fiberglass. One of the challenges was finding a slidebar to match because of the screw holes in the fiberglass. I was contacted and told that they had found the parts (contractor even took the old part to ensure they had a proper replacement). When the contractor came the slidebar did not cover the old holes. My father who let them in the house was asked which hole I wanted caulked since it would not cover all of the old holes. He called me and then I called the contractor. I left a message and then when he called me back the job was done and I was basically told that "he didn't like the situation either but what can you do?". My answer to that is that the work should not have proceeded if they were not able to provide the service agreed to. I or anyone could have bought an off the shelf product and screwed it down and then caulked. The whole point in contacting a plumber was that I would not find a product that matched. If they couldn't either I should have been given the choice on whether to proceed. After it was done I was told that I could spend another $150 for them to send someone to repair the hole in the fiberglass.Desired Settlement: No charge for the inferior service provided. I am willing to pay for the parts.
