J.R. Markson Security Reviews (3)

After reviewing the complaint and my files this is my response. I do not recall whether [redacted] called in August or not. My response to her would have been, "per your contract, you must send n a 30 day written notice". This is what we tell anyone who calls in to cancel. Per our...

contracts, we do require a written notice 30 days prior to the renewal date. As she stated, I did not receive her written notification until November 19, 2013. At that time I responded with an email and a copy of their contract showing the Automatic Renew date of September 16th. Nothing was mentioned about being ill ,just that they wanted to cancel. We did have a telephone conversation at which time I went to my supervisor and we decided if they would pay thru February, we would cancel the account. We felt that $158.84 was fair. That is when she said it was a scam and that was the last time we spoke. We sent them a certified letter on January 15, 2014 and we received it back as Unclaimed. We still waited until July 8, 2014 to send them to collections for the balance of their contract.  I can provide copies of our emails and their contract should you require. I thank you for your assistance in this matter. I can be reached Monday - Wednesday 9 am to 4 pm at the number listed below or you can email me at the address below.[redacted]

Review: After being faithful customers for 3 years, we decided to cancel our services because of multiple false alarms due to system malfunctions. On August 16th, 2013, I called the office to request cancellation and spoke to the office manager [redacted] informed me that I need to put the request in writing. Due to multiple medical issues, my request to cancel was delayed and was not able to send the cancellation letter till November 19th, 2013. On November 19th I finally sent the request to cancel services with JR Markson. I was later informed that my contract was automatically renewed for another year. I spoke with [redacted] again on November 19th and explained to her that I was not able to send the request due to medical issues. [redacted] then explained that she would cancel the contract as long as I paid for the next 3 months. In turn, forcing me pay for services up to Feb. 2014. I refused to pay and explained to [redacted] that the forced contract was a scam. JR Markson continued to charge my account up to July 2014. I've never experienced such disregard for customers and am disgusted that I invested in a company that is so worthless.Desired Settlement: All charges after November 19th, 2013 be removed from my account.
