I contacted this company to do some remodeling work on my home - install a kitchen faucet and two bathroom faucets and one tub fixture ensemble which I had purchased. Also to scrape off popcorn ceiling in one bathroom and paint it, and remove and install new wallpaper in this bathroom, which I had also purchased. Also to install crown molding in this one bathroom, and wooden frames around the mirrors in both bathrooms. The worker asked for an extra $100 the second time he was here in order to get the wood trims I would need - he told me he would do this since I didn't know what would be required. After agreeing on the cost of labor for the entire job ($750), a worker ([redacted]) came twice to begin (install the kitchen faucet, one bathroom faucet and the tub fixture ensemble (which was not adequately done - also this bathroom faucet still needed a new cold water supply line attached which [redacted] said he would do the next time he came), then failed to come back at the next scheduled time. I tried contacting the company as well as this worker, but to no avail. I tried calling (could only leave a message to return my call) and then emailing and finally sent a letter to the company detailing my complaint. It has been since March 24, when the worker failed to show up and to date I have not received any replies at all. In fact, when I drove to the address given for J.S. Banister in Cary, I could not even find the business.Desired SettlementThough I wish to have the job finished, I do not trust this company to do it. In fact, I believe I have been scammed out of the money I have already paid for what was done (though, as mentioned, not well done) - $535. I don't expect I will be able to get compensation for the money I have already paid as I don't believe this is actually a legitimate company. I am now having to go to another contractor to get the work done, which will cost me more money. Please help me with this situation. Thank you. I ran into an emergency and I did not have phone service and I lost her number. I do not believe I owe her $535. I am willing to to settle for the supply line that wasn't installed and I did say I would go back, but I failed to do so. You can reach me at XXX-XXX-XXXX.
