JSM Properties

I appreciate that the Revdex.com allows me to rank this management company as a 0 out of 10, because that is what they truly deserve. I have been a tenant since August 2013, and I have been extremely surprised by the lack of responsibility and lack of care that the company has for UW Madison campus tenants. As a college student, I feel as if I am treated like a child by the management company, and that they do not take the campus tenants seriously. We have had multiple issues with the property we live in, starting from the day that we moved in. The property was extremely messy and was not cleaned up at all from the previous tenants. As various problems have arisen with the property since August 2013, (natural gas leak due to a broken furnace, water leaking from the ceiling, and now an entrance door that doesn't close properly) JSM Properties has taken an exuberant amount of time fixing emergent issues. Most recently has been the entrance door and which is the focus of this review. Our entrance door does not fit to the frame of the door, and has been this way for multiple months. We have put in three separate work orders for the issue only to find that the management company repeatedly and crudely slaps on cheap and ineffective weather stripping in order to "fix" the problem. As I write this I am waiting for the repair guy to show up to fix my door. I called the JSM main office earlier today to inform them that it has been six days since the most recent work order has been filed and that nothing has been done about it. The representative on the phone told me that they would try to get someone on the issue today. Once the office closed, I decided to call their after-hours "emergency maintenance hotline" to tell them that it is so cold in our living room that the pipes are about to freeze. Going on two and a half hours now and nobody has showed up to fix the problem. I am leaving a review in order to give other customers a heads up about the quality, or lack thereof, of this company. I am hoping that I won't have to change this review into a complaint, and that JSM will get their issues figure out, but I remain doubtful.
