Review: I was given a brand new HP tower (Windows 8.1) as a gift. ..after upgrading to Windows 10 and not satisfied, I restored the computer back to 8.1. For whatever reasons, some system's were not enabled. Suddenly I got a 'blue' screen and a message that could not be minimized to read the blue screen nor was I able to control the IE page. The message read I was to not turn off the computer or a virus would destroy my computer and to call ###-###-####.. (I'm not sure if the last four were the same)

I was in such a panic. The warrantee may have expired. I called and they tried to 'sell' me on a security program because the '[redacted] was not compatible. I said I had one and I was ready to install it pin and all and they stole the key, hy=jacked my computer, told me they are he only ones that can get into the back of my computer (unwittingly divulged information) and then I was disconnected. I called again and got an even more skilled hacker lacking in English literature and he continued the shtick and spiel proceeded to pull up google search using my 'run' command (back door) to show me Zeus virus and a couple more. That, 'that' was what was infecting my computer.

I wanted more information about them so they lead me to: [redacted]

Having fixed the problem my self with technical help, I researched this company and they are owned buy: 1) Jupiter Security Consultants INC and/or : [redacted] registered in New York !!

WHICH ONE IS IT!?

They said, " I was going to install WEBROOT security" and the other guy said "You can install what ever you want, it will not stop an attack".Desired Settlement: Refund or replacement of one year security for my computer. as the key was "HIGH-LIGHTE FOR COPY"! I was robbed of my security of my program and high jacked 'hacked'! One of these two companies owe me big time!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

No they did not resolve the issue of the 'security program' that happened to be the one they were going to install when I got disconnected. It was set up 'with' the 'key' ready to be installed. When I called back the 'even' faster and smarter guy started the same process but quoted higher prices for other products when he said, "It doesn't matter what you install. It may not help"..That's when he 'TOOK' the key and cleared the key code and license. Not allowing me to, even see or 'try'. I had a perfectly working and applicable program. This is not to mention: How did this happen in the first place? Microsoft was supposed to be behind this in the first place. I was restoring the original 8.1 'and' installing 176 updates because this machine said it had 'never' been updated. Two days of continuous agony, only to be 'back-doored' by a creepy message saying I had to call this number before I shut off this machine, not allowing me to view the original screen. I should have the choice of frying it if I want to. They pointed out the problem! It was right in front of us both. When they pointed it out I restarted the computer and when straight to systems configuration where they were all turned off. Why? I do not know. Intimidation is not something I play with.
