Ifeel they misrepresent the product. I was told that LPN can practice as Legal Consultants after taking the course when this is not trueI called and spoke with [redacted] approx the first of March. One of the questions I specifically asked was regarding LPN's and the ability for the to practice as legal consultants.I was told most absolutely after taking the class and being certified. While it is true Jurex will certify an LPN, there is no job market as a direct employee or as a stand alone consultant. While this job sound glamours and advertises making $150 per hour, the truth is not for LPN's. I would have never taken the course at a $1000 if I had known the truth.Desired SettlementI would like a refund of the amount paid for the class.Business Response LPNs can be legal nurse consultants. Jurex does not promise employment. Jurex provides the Professional Legal Nurse Consultant certification course. Ms. [redacted] only stated there is no job market which is totally insufficient. She was specifically told, both at registration as well as at the course, to complete her online profile on the Jurex Expert Directory and she did not. At the time Ms. [redacted] registered, she stated she could pay $333.33 and would pay the balance ($665.67) on June 21, 2014. On June 21, 2014, her credit card was declined and would only process $330.00. Only when she was sent an email receipt for $330.00 did she complain with this complaint. We never heard from her after she took the course on April 5 & 6, 2014. Only after she received the receipt, for only a portion of what she owed, is she now complaining. Ms. [redacted] still has a balance due of $335.67.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I am truly sorry that the management of Jurex believes that this about money. I am upset about the fact that there is not a job market, nor will there ever be for an LPN as a Legal Nurse Consultant. I have spoken to numerous Attorneys' in this area, even to someone at the Legal Aid Office in Wichita. I was told that an LPN education is not sufficient to use a professional consultant in the legal documentation or in the courtroom when it came to medical cases. The attorneys that I spoke with stated that the legal field is so completive that Registered Nurse have a difficult time starting the business unless they are certified in a specialty or have a Master 'Degree. The Attorney at the Wichita office of the [redacted] Legal Aid office advised me to do further research into Certification of a Legal Nurse Consultant. The Murex program is the only one I looked into that would "certify" an LPN. All other programs an applicant must be a minimum of an RN. Then the class and the certification process are much more detailed.I knew that [redacted] would say this was all about money. It is true that I e-mailed her and asked for financial assistance in attending the class. The copy of my e-mail is attached. I explained I had 1/3 of the tuition and asked for assistance in finding the rest. Ms. [redacted] called me on the telephone. It was my understanding that I would pay the 1/3 and she was going to take care of the rest, I assumed that had some sort of financial assistance plan for those in need. I gave her my payment with my debit over the telephone that first conversation. They did send me a receipt (which is also attached) I did not even open it and read it until they tried to take over $600 out of my account with no notification or authorization by me. Had I been notified I would have told them I did not then, nor will in the near future have that money? I had been considering filing the complaint, but if fact did not, because I had assumed that Ms. [redacted] had charitable and though very disappointed was attempting to let it go. But I feel know feel it is true misrepresentation, and it is only fair that other LPN's should be aware.. My health is not good, and I thought perhaps this would be something that I could do from home and still have a decent wage coming in. I was diagnosed with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma three years ago. I went through a year of High Beam Chemo Therapy and then a Stem Cell Transplant was done. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, a late effect of the Chemotherapy. This has vastly limited my functioning ability. My plan had been to use the Legal Nurse consulting as something to fall back on, if I were ever unable to work outside of the home again.I hope that by this explanation you can fully understand the reason for the complaint to start with. I know that they cannot guarantee a job, but I do think that if they continue to Certify LPN's in this program, they need to also make them aware of the difficulty they will likely encounter when looking for employment.I pose this question to Ms. [redacted]: How many LPN's work as legal nurse consultants for Jurex? In close my original complaint of misrepresentation standsFinal Business Response This was our email to [redacted] on July 15, 2014:[redacted]:I sincerely hope you are feeling better. I left you a voice message to call me. Anyway, as we discussed on March 20 and March 21, 2014, you agreed to make a partial payment of $333.33 on March 21 when you registered for the PLNC course with the balance to be paid on June 21, 2014. On March 20, you emailed: "have read a lot of good things about the course and would really love to attend."On March 21, I emailed the confirmation of your registration for the Professional Legal Nurse Consultant (PLNC) course and I said, in pertinent part:"We will process the balance of your registration fee in three months."On March 21, you emailed back:"Thank you so much. I can not tell you how much I appreciate this."On April 5 and 6, you attended the two day PLNC course. We never heard anything from you until after we sent you a credit card receipt for only partial payment of $330.00 when you made a complaint with the Revdex.com. You still have an outstanding balance of $335.67. I took you at your word that you would pay your outstanding balance in three months. We normally require full payment with registration. I made an exception based on your word. In order to resolve this matter considering your statement about your medical condition, I would be willing to not process your balance due. Please reply immediately so I can stop the processing of your outstanding balance. You replied on July 14, 2014:"I understand that you will not attempt to process any transactions against my account. If this is statement is correct I accept your terms."[redacted]We replied on July 15, 2014:"Your statement is correct and we have an agreement."To be clear, RNs and LPNs are Professional Legal Nurse Consultants (PLNC). At no time did we misrepresent anything about the course nor the registration fee. You said in your email of March 20 that you had "read a lot of good things about the course and would really love to attend." At the time of your registration on March 21, you said you would pay the balance on June 21, 2014 and you confirmed that in your email to us. This matter is resolved. We wish you the best.
