On 9-14-15 a contract was signed by myself and Mr. Walton for the repairs on the house located on [redacted]. To date Mr. Walton has not honored his part of the contract. He was to put in sheetrock, insulation for walls and ceiling, Replace back door, hot water tank, vanity sink, toilet, kitchen sink and plumbing and supply line plus (7) windows. To date nine weeks later this has not been done. He keeps lying saying he or his help is out there working but when I go to check nothing is done. The week of 11-1-15 thru 11-5-15 he stated he had hung sheetrock in the bedroom and half the living room. On 11-5-15, I went by the house he wasnot there and no sheetrock was on any wall. He had two helper trying to hang plaster board. The contract said sheetrock and new insulation to be hung. No insulation was anywhere in the house. The plumbing was to be done and inspected several weeks before. It was not finished until 11-10-15. The electricity can't be turned on until allthe sheetrock is hung. When I informed him I was going to complaint to Revdex.com and see a lawyer toget my money back, he tried to put a rush on work. The plumber finish work and passed inspection 0n 11-10-15. His helper come out and hung plaster broad not sheetrock. It was a poorly done job with big gaps between sheet on the wall and ceiling. The walls not covered showed theydid not put in new insulation. when asked about this, Mr. Walton stated the tape and mud would hide this. I paid Mr. Walton more than enough to get the supplies he needed. I want a refund since he did not honor the contract. He can deduct reasonable charges for supplies and work but with a reputable contractor agreement.I don't know what he did with my money but I think I should be compensatedwithout having to come out of my pocket with more.Desired Settlementonly get paid for few supplies he provided and refund me the rest to get a reputable contractor to finish what he did not really startBusiness Response Complaint Activity Report Case # XXXXXXXXJWSales & Construction4759 Mickey Dr.Memphis, TN XXXXX(XXX)XXX-XXXXYes, I did enter into an agreement with MS [redacted]. I was working on making all repairs set forth in the agreement. When I enter into the agreement I knew I had to do a gas meter replace replacement not a water meter replacement. I did fail the initial plumbing inspection in-part for workmanship and for not having a meter. I did not want to start hanging the sheet rock until all inspection where complete. The electrical inspection was just completed the week before. I do not know who told Ms [redacted] that those where plaster wall they where not. I install the window from the outside the inside was to be completed with the interior work. Ms [redacted] was trying to move some one into the house while I was working on it. Ms [redacted] was aware that we need to do and water meter put back but did not want to pay the price of $179.00 for it. I call do have the meter put back so that I could complete the work, she want me to begin hanging sheet rock which I did. I could not hang the sheet rock until the electrical inspection was done, once it was done I started hanging the sheet. I passed [redacted] my inspection on this property as promised. Ms [redacted] started talking to someone else about the work who gave her a lot of miss information. I was willing to complete the job she wanted someone else. They do not make plaster board walls they have not made this in thirty years.John WaltonManager Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I gave Mr. Walton $300.00 on 9-11-15 to pull permits and $4700.00 on 9-14-15 for down payment, making a total payment of $5000.00. There never was a mention of $179 for a meter. A letter from MLGW stated the amount to be paid to only them and all inspections must be completed and that amount is $610.00. They were to do the work the have a special section that does that. The electrician could not get a final inspection until the sheet rock was up for to covers of plugs. All his wiring was done. I have pictures showing wiring hung and no walls. He did not passed the inspection for the water. He paid the person who pulled the permit for him to come and redo his work after he failed the first time.He lied several times the nine weeks he was to be working on the house repairs. On two separate occasions for 2 weeks they did absolutely no work at all. When questions stated, they would work all weekend. It didn't happen. There was another occasion that no work was done, stating his wife was in the hospital. That's a total of five weeks nothing was done to the house. The other weeks they would do maybe one or two days of work and would not show up again that week. The week of 11-5-15, I informed him I was getting someone else to do the work. He asked for a week and he would have everything finished by then. I took pictures at that time of the house. A couple of days later he told me the had started to hang sheetrock. I asked him if the put in the new insulation. He replied "I put in your insulation."When I made a surprise visit and saw he was putting new sheetrock over old insulation and rotten wood when the contract called for new insulation, I knew for sure Mr Walton could not be trusted and the money I had given to repair my property went else where. When he came to the house to review it for an estimate, I told him then, I had someone who was ready to rent it and if it could finished by the end of September. He no, maybe by the end of the first week in October. The person wanting to rent the property was with me at that time.I have pictures taken on 11-5-15, where the water pipes were laying on the kitchen floor, not hooked up; one missing window when there was to be 7 replaced but only 6 was and one of those were cracked. I will be faxing these pictures along with this response. I think I was very patient with Mr. Walton with his constant excuses and his lack of interest to complete his contract. Then when I saw evidence of his deception to fraud on the repair, it was time for him to go and me to find someone more reputable. All I am asking is since didn't use the money for my house repair he refund it to me. He knows he did not act in honest and business like manner. Final Business Response
