Regards,
*** ***We were very disappointed with the work done by Summit RoofingNot only did they damage the aluminum siding around our chimney, they did an extremely sloppy job installing the drip edge, and installed a "weave" in a valley that was expressly written in the contract that we were to get metal valleysHe made a failed attempt to fix the drip edge, and I was willing to accept the weave in the valley if he would just fix the siding damaged by his crewWe were very upfront and definite that we would not accept painted aluminum siding as a fixHe also said if he painted it, he would not stand behind the pain jobWe spent many hours of our time and considered several ways to make the repairOn October 25th, Lonnie brought someone from *** Roofing to offer an opinion on how to repair the damaged sidingI listened while Lonnie tried to explain why his crew had to cut and bend the siding, J-channel and corner bead to install the flashingI also listened while the man from *** said that the crew did not have to cut and ruin the sidingThe flashing could have been soldered(which was also the opinion of a home inspector that I consulted)When Lonnie left our home on October 25th, I asked him if he would show drawings of what *** proposed to fix itHe said yes he would and he leftWe have not heard from Lonnie V*** / Summit Roofing since October 25th, even after sending several emails asking for some kind of resolutionWe got an estimate of $to re-side just the chimneyOur siding is not available and cannot be matched, but we are willing to accept just re-siding the chimney even though it will not match the rest of the houseWe did not ruin our siding, Summit Roofing didWe feel they should stand behind the terrible work done by their crew and fix their mistakesHe is withholding the warranty and will not sign the final papers from the insurance company so we continue to have an open claim with our insurance companyWe would be happy to provide photos of the work done if needed

Again, we have acknowledged the validity of Mr***'s complaint, but our attempts heretofore to resolve this complaint have proved unsuccessful, because all reasonable repairs have been refused. We understand fully that the $demanded for repairs, is, in Mr***'s view, a reasonable request, but we respectfully disagree. The market value of repairs is what we must consider when reaching a settlement. In light of Mr***'s dissatisfaction with our service, we were willing to pay an amount over and above the market value of the repair. Thus, we have previously offered $to go toward the repairs, which was refused. To settle this matter, we are willing to offer now $to go toward the cost of any repairs he may wish to have done. As a matter of full disclosure, Mr*** still owes our company roughly $for the complete replacement of his roof. We understand that, in his view, he should pay less for his dissatisfaction. Still, it is our intent to receive payment for our services, and satisfy (albeit partially) Mr***

Summit Roofing did install a new roof for Dave ***, and, following the installation, we returned several times to address his concerns. It would be impossible to delineate the full scope of our conversations and attempts to reach an agreement with Mr***, since our Revdex.com response
window is time-limited. (Our company has minutes to respond on the Revdex.com website once we open the complaint window.) However, a brief overview of the facts is as follows: 1. Yes, mistakes were made in the installation process. We have acknowledged them, apologized for them, and attempted to resolve them. 2. We have attempted to resolve these problems to Mr***'s satisfaction, but also within reason. As one point, we offered Mr*** DOUBLE the repair cost of a small section of aluminum siding that was damaged. He refused. 3. We have offered a variety of repair options to the aluminum siding. First, we offered to replace the siding, painting it to match the existing color. Mr*** refused, saying it would not match. Second, we offered to replace the siding, but instead of using touchup paint, match the siding color and have a professional painter do a custom paint job. This also was refused. Third, Mr***, mentioned that another company had given him a repair estimate in the $price range. We agreed to pay that amount. Finally, Mr*** suggested a repair that would involve redesigning the bottom of the chimney flashing altogether, which we agreed to do, but when we returned with a contractor who had agreed to do the work, Mr*** then informed us that he had changed his mind about this repair. At present, we are at an impasse with Mr***. A reasonable repair estimate for the small section of siding in question is $to $500. We have offered this and more. Currently, Mr*** is demanding over $to replace the siding completely. This is, in our opinion, an unreasonable demand. Our company has serviced the greater Cincinnati area for years, and we strive to ensure that homeowners are fully satisfied with our service. We regret that in this case, we were unable to meet his expectations
